Could do with one of our strikers being available too. Too soon for Wilson I assume? How far off is Delfouneso?

Murphy is another one apparently out of contract this season, be good too see if burge could make the step up - I'd give him a game or two

Interesting thought that Tom...didn't think of that but you're right. If Burge keeps the spot when Murphy is back and fit, probably safe to assume Murphy is off in the Summer.

Surely, as a Coventry fan, you should want him to do well regardless?

While we have a real lack of experience especially up front at the moment, the club could do worse than giving a short term contract to Marlon King. We may aslo have missed a trick by not offering a short term deal to Clive Platt when he got released by Northampton.

Platt is no Pele as we know but he really impressed with his grown-up statements on the game and sounded like he was a real leader in the dressing room who could be a bit of a father figure to a young squad, even to help them through to May. Too late though, Bury have taken him on.

King won't win any popularity contests but he scores goals and whatever wage we can offer him has to be better than zilch as currently. He's probably worth two or three 18 year old loannees.

Burge seems to be quite highly rated. Wasn't he amazing for Nuneaton last season? Alright it's a lower level, but saving a shot flying in to the top corner is the same regardless of what level it is.

Also on a slightly related note, I watched a video on the club's Youtube page yesterday of some shooting training in practice and there was a young lad in goal who couldn't save a thing! Everything just went through him

News ahead of the Shrewsbury game according to Cov Tel Live's Twitter feed, Nathan Delfounseo will not be avaliable this weekend as he hasn't returned to training today, Callum Wilson and Chuba Akpom have reported back 100% well.

So expect both of them to start up top.

So, with the above in mind, what team would you go with?

I reckon:

Murphy
Christie Seabourne Webster Adams
Marshall Fleck Barton Moussa
Wilson Akpom

Be harsh on Petrsso wouldn't It, especially as only here for the month.
But then currently he's only here for the month which suggests setting up for longer term
Need Combative midfielder, is Barton It

Barton probably isn't it but who else is there? Would maybe start the Canadian lad, yes. Maybe in place of Marshall as he is still getting up to match fitness.

Defence needs a re-shuffle as well, maybe 1 or 2 of Clarke, Willis and Phillips along the backline

Not very auspicious on the ref front
Darren Deadman had him about 8-10 games
Won about two
Likes his cards booked six sent off two when we played Leicester once

I dont think Akpom is available. At right back Id play Clarke if Petrasso is playing - Christie if its Baker.
A football thread - what a treat

That comment is from a week ago Will, I agree though I'd play Jordan at RB and put Blair in at LB and bring Moussa back in to Left Midfield, with Delfounseo up top with Wilson.
