Have a good friend who is a vicar in Hartlepool the needs she helps meet on a daily basis would make one weep

How can attending one domestic incident account for 40% of the local police force there.

I saw something about a vigilante group starting up where they will police things themselves if there are issues. Can only see that sort of stuff getting worse

Already happens with "Paedo Hunters".

Can't blame them though.

If my neighbours came to me and asked me to help patrol the streets and we were suffering problems, I would help.

While I agree, things like that will probably ending causing more trouble when you have people who just want to use it as an excuse to go out and look for trouble.

Have also seen in London there are private companies patrolling posher areas.

The Police / Criminal service is severely lacking.

In Finham, and I’m sure it won’t be the only area, the police themselves have suggested local residents patrol the streets.

I thought that was a decent area with few crime problems?

Loads of burglaries and vehicle crime. Pretty much on a nightly basis people with CCTV report people trying car doors, checking for ways into houses etc.

The criminals are becoming more confident. They know there’s no police and they are unlikely to get caught. Burglaries are reculalry occurring during the day now.

On two occasions I know of thieves have been caught them in the act, the police called and said there’s nobody available to come out.

That's the thing, what do the police expect to happen then?

You have a burglar there bang to rights. How long do you keep them there until the police can take him?

The burglar gets a hiding, the police would soon show up.

And even if they're caught they no nothing really bad is likely to happen to them.

this is happening in Coventry.
When my son got mugged the police didn't come out. There had been a load of muggings that weekend and they didn't have the man power to visit each victim. They spoke to us over the phone and no one was ever caught.
Noting to do with the reduction in police numbers though.

Amazing how when those few individuals were nicked it stopped, they were bailed and lo behold the same crimes and MO’s started up again!

They know they’ll just keep getting away with it, they’ll get nicked, bailed & repeat!

Deflecting slightly, just been another story on BBC news about police in London trying to arrest a suspect. The lad's mates join in and as the police officer is trying to arrest the first guy, the second guy drags the police officer across the street.

A female police officer then goes over to assist her colleague and the third of the suspects takes a running, flying drop kick at her.

Someone is filming it (nothing to do with the suspects apparently) and giving a commentary and finding the whole thing really hilarious.

When the bloke drop kicks the female officer she is knocked into the road and a passing bus misses her by inches.

The police are saying there is a massive increase of these social media uploaded clips where officers are attacked and passers by are delighting in it and find it increasingly funny.

My question is, why do people hate the police so much?

I don't get it. They are human beings like the rest of us and therefore there are some good, some bad.

It's the same in any walk of life. I just don't get this hatred of all police officers.

Baffles me.

I'm not too sure, if I saw a policeman / woman struggling I'd go over to help rather than stand and film it with something like that. If it was guns and knives I can't say 100% I would go storming in until I was in that position but I'd at least try something instead of filming it.

It is people's first thoughts nowadays because they want to be a social media star. They need to make it a crime of some sort if they can so it's aiding and abetting or something like that.

Working in the emergencies is a soul destroying job. Give those police a gun and see who's drop kicking who when they get bullets. No doubt if the policewoman did pull a gun or a cosh and gave them a hiding when they ran at her it would be a race related attack and the poor babies were picked on.

Can understand why people film it and stick it on social media, because that's what people do these days, but it's the mocking nature of some of them.

They are not just filming and putting up the clips, they are adding commentary, laughing and revelling in the process of the police getting attacked.

They then probably post it as "copper gets drop kicked LOLZ" for likes. People want to be social media stars.

There's a documentary on netflix about self defence and martial arts. The bloke goes to Israel and speaks with the police / army who use Krav Maga. Some of the stuff the police there were doing in their training would have your arm snapped and your head blown off before you could blink after throwing a punch at one of them.

People know the police can't really do much so they take the piss. Same with people burgling, they know the police won't come out so as long as they cover their tracks / finger prints they aren't getting caught.

Police just give the victim a case ID for insurance and job done.

Scum are losing respect for the police, it's different in other countries. This won't go down well with all but I think female police officers in frontline positions are very often not phsically strong enough to tackle some of these thugs and the thugs know it . Seen so many police ladies being thrown around lately.

Should let them have weapons to defend themselves.

Or train them like this

If I was doing their job and somebody came at me I wouldn't want to stop and do a checklist in my head before defending myself in case I ended up losing my job over it. The little twats know all the tricks, the rules and will be aiming for compo the minute they get a whack. It takes some composure and self discipline to do what they do. Just not enough of them and they are too restricted with paperwork.

The article on central news last night where protesters were campaigning for justice for the relative who died in police custody was s prime example. He was a big lad and really kicked off with the police spitting at them as well as fighting with them. They restrained him and he died unfortunately. his family and their supporters are making him out to be a martyr and campaigning for justice for him.

Dripping wet liberals like you and Otis would be the first to bleat about police brutality and make justification for the perpetrators behaviour

In Finham?

If I go to Nuneaton sometimes it is way too obvious, they just pull up in cars and go to another one an then drive off.

Just needs somebody to chuck them in a van and have a purge.

Yeah, the amount of alleyways means the little pricks can FO in any given direction if anybody turns up. We've had casual vandalism (stones through a car window), break-ins to a car, attempted break-ins to a car and a house and blatant drug-dealing in a 50 yard space over the last 6 months. All bar the dealing is on CCTV, no fucks-given.

Well, if there is a general election any time soon, who the hell would you vote for if you're looking for a party that will support law and order?
