Just decided to hypothetically look at the team with a view to whch positions I would be happy with if I was given money to improve the squad.

This is the team I would start with out of our current squad that I feel could compete towards the upper end of this league.

It just shows what Thorn has to play with.

--------------Murphy---------------
??????----Craine------Keogh---Christie
?????----Clingan-----??????-----??????
----------Juke------??????------------

Subs

McDonald
Hussey
Thomas
Bigi
Dunn
Wood
Clarke

The rest can do one, not good enough or not putting in the effort

Yeah, i have to say i agree with you. Apart from I would also put Bigi in the side, we desperately need him back imo

agreed, but the reason I didnt put him in was that in an ideal world, we wouldnt have him down as a regular this season. Only put Chrisite in as I have Clarke on the bench (when fit), so wont have to rely on Chrisite all season and could give the boy a rest. Bigi is more than in the squad and would get games, just didnt want to rely on him all season.

I honesty feel that with 5 decent new signings (which is never going to happen), it would ensure we are a MID TABLE team.

We are so far off competiting in this league, its untrue.

This is the year we have been found out, simple as that.

Murphy out,hes not good enough. Its obvious why scunny went down with most goals conceded.

we couldnt rely on Dunn all season Valiant, so if Murphy comes out, we need 6 more players !

5 decent signings is half a team - that's a lot of players!

AT is on a hiding to nothing !

Hard on Deegan and Platt to get no mention. Wood is a better centre half than Cranie. You seem to have missed out the contract boys (Baker, Bell, McPake)!

"not good enough or not putting in the effort" - yet McDonald still in the squad - shocking performance on Saturday.

wouldnt even put clingan in that team, what has he really offered this season? one good goal at doncaster, apart from that he has been distinctly average in my eyes and you can see why he has been relegated from this league with two previous clubs

You know something, one day our rose-tinted Sky Blue spectacle friends will realise this.

following on from SISU making me feel more detached from my club than I have have been, one thing this season has enabled me to do is look at the games more objectively, as opposed to through sky blues goggles...

Sad but true that to be in this league with this bunch of players, we are "over achieving" and next year we will begin to see where we belong, be it in League One or lower.

the Bury game only proves this point. League One will not be a stroll, far from it.

Cup games are cup games - as everyone goes on about the 2-0 win at old trafford and the 4-1 win at ewood park didn't mean we would have been a comfortable premier league team.

However our squad is league 1 mid table side written all over, so I agree it wont be an easy ride.

Put we are where we belong a while ago and got shot down like cock Robin for saying such a thing but unfortunatly until or unless something drastic happens without sky blue goggles on that is what has happened.
Other teams have moved on and moved on quickly but since we got relegated we have been woeful and we had money at the beginning of our journey in this division but no team has ever been scared of playing CCFC as we are what we are a low/mid table team but unfortunatly this year (at the moment) even worse than that.
Shit to hear but unfortunatly we are, does not mean I like it, it just is.

I think if everyone was available we would have the core of a side capable of staying up, but because of our squad it means those 3 empty positions are filled with players not good enough or lacking effort and if one of those 8 core players is unavailable for a game we are well and truly screwed.

I think we are in desperate need for cover for Hussey, cover at CB as the only cover we currently have is Cameron. We need two wingers, a striker to play along Juke and probably another to provide competition for them, oh and an attacking midfielder.
