I think Shipley doesn’t help because he mixes the arrogance with the complete lack of effort. Always going to rile fans up if you aren’t delivering. If he just did the basics like tracking back and putting his foot in he’d get a lot more latitude (look at Max!)

You really don't. If you look at my posts I support all of the players who are often digged out, its just that some are more often than others. I defended Burge etc on here too. I thought we were all supporters, you should try it. Seems most would rather criticise and run with the crowd. Being a City fan has always been more than that to me.

I’ll vouch for you on this you’ve always been pretty fair across the board in regards to players

Coming into the season Shipley was a certain starter for me given some of his performances the last couple of years. However his standards this year at times has been nothing short of pathetic. I can’t remember the last time a Cov player made me physically so frustrated I could punch something.
I think he’s just not at this standard based on this year and wouldn’t be shocked to see him leave this summer.

His shooting is his only asset to be honest, but the rest of the time his attitude on the pitch can really stink. PNE away stands out

I'd just rather look for the good in our players. In fact seem to have spent my whole life justifying support to glory hunters who never watch their teams, so it hurts even more from within.

It's not even he's not up to standard. It's that he doesn't try then acts like it's everyone else letting him down.

I have no idea what's happened to him but it's a far cry from last 2 seasons and as you say, fills me as a fan, with rage. We'd all run out bollocks off if give a chance to play for our club

Criticising a player for genuine reasons isnt running with the crowd. Scoring a deflected goal doesnt change the many problems Shipley has. Feel free to blindly defend players but dont have a go at those who discuss reality and have a different opinion to you rose tinted one

Oh I am trust me! Probably sitting behind you on the LWCCFC coach.
Just because he comes to our meetings and we all like and get on with his old man that doesn’t do it for me I’m afraid.

So we had walker who was utterly atrocious today and completely ignored, yet we have yet another thread about the guy who scored. Might not be good enough, that's an opinion but it really is like Groundhog Day.

The bias on this board at times with opinions that are based not on performance but preconceived hatred.

And if Walker was genuinely carrying a knee injury then when we're completely safe it was stupid playing him at all.

which isn't Walkers fault. And I thought he was OK first half and the change was tactical.
But back to Shipley, I'll defend against some of the undeserved vitriol that comes his way and hes been a part of some great days/nights of recent times, but I think his days are numbered.
He actually played OK today which makes some of his earlier seasons efforts all the more frustrating.

Away at Millwall he was confident and imposed himself on the game. Sadly most other times we've seen him he's been a timid version of himself.

Weve not had a meeting for well over a year and I imagine Jordan will be gone before we have another, but you've said that before, yet I'm open about who I am and you know who I am but won't reveal yourself and hide behind your online persona.

Also at least I'm consistent and dont blow smoke up his arse when I see him. I'd guarantee most who slag him off on social media would be all over him like a superfan.

I've met Shippers and he's a super nice lad - no arrogance at all.

It's amazing that some on here are attaching so much importance and criticism to a goal celebration.

There seems to be a need for the minority on here who shout loudest on here to constantly criticise our players over anything.

I haven't rated him a lot of games, he had just scored so can do what he wants. Hypocritical to act like I wouldnt and didn't celebrate it.

Shipley hasn’t been good enough when given a chance this season. Him shushing us is just pathetic because it’s hardly like he’s made up for being shite All year by scoring against a team below us in a dead rubber. He’s been a great servant for us over the years but it’s time we parted ways. Thanks, all the best and have a good career.

Not correct - Rob is just a City fan, and gives me a lift to games on a regular basis. Clearly Shippers hasn't had a good season and has flaws in his game which need to improve, We can't affect what will happen next season re: recruitment but I'm another who doesn't like to have a continuous pop at players whilst they are with us. That said, Jordan will have to improve his performances to get regular game time - but he will know that, too.

I posted about this in the matchday thread and thought it was distasteful. Extremely poor at this level unfortunatly, as much as I want him to do the business as he's a Cov lad. Doesn't have the right to be arrogant after a lucky goal that went in off a defenders backside.

Not arrogant , defiant I'd say.

At the end of the day, he's every right to be pissed off with abuse received from people who couldn't hope to play at the standard or level he does.

If I had someone unqualified telling me I was shite at what I do in my profession, I'd tell them to go fuck themselves too.

By bringing him on yesterday, it doesn't look like Robins has given up on him. The substitution changed the game too, we looked much better all around in that second half. Did Shipley have no part in that?
