Blue has been the colour associated with Coventry since the Middle Ages being the used a mark for Coventry wool. So let's hope Wasps keep the seats in blue, if only to keep the citizens in their new home quiet.

If people are going up to watch Wasps play I don't they would be the slightest bothered about Wasps changing the seating.

If they changed the seating colours WHILST Coventry City remained there I'd imagine a lot of there attendees would be upset, they could possibly cut in half or worse there attendances overnight by taking such action.

Why? your argument summed up is basically those that attend Wasps games don't care about CCFC. The evidence and bit of logic would suggest at least a significant portion do and will have a greater affiliation with CCFC over the past 10 years than they do with Wasps.

The "sky blue" is historically linked to the distinctive ribbon produced by Cash's , famous for ribbon production. Cash's are renowned throughout the UK for ribbon production, and the distinctive blue well known far beyond the boundary of the Warwickshire area.

Maybe we should also throw out the elephant badge and stick a wasp on the shirt as well.

When I first started supporting CCFC, they played in royal blue and white and were nicknamed "The Bantams". It was Jimmy Hill who introduced the new strip and nickname and had the Sky Blue Song composed. Since those days are well and truly over, after 50 years, it's time for a change. There are many historical strips that CCFC have had even prior to the blue and white that we could re-introduce. It's really not that important to me what strip we play in though I have never been a big fan of the all sky blue.

Do we know how many City fans are going up to Wasps games? Serious question and not intended in any argumentative way, I just wonder how many. I would be surprised if it was anything more than just a mere handful. I think on the whole we are football fans or rugby fans.

I'm sure there will have been a few for that first game to see what all the fuss was about and I know some are passionate about both creeds, but on the whole I think most football fans aren't that bothered about rugby and most rugby fans don't give a rats arse about football.

Is that a fair assumption to have?

Torch I salute your comments about HR a few pages back. The Ricoh is a good venue and HR was tatty but had soul. Mind you I don't think much of the new Wembley either

If CCFC moved into a stadium where another club was already playing, I would expect the seats to be the colour of the team present and I would feel very uncomfortable about changing them whilst they remain and if the club did decide to do I would be very sympathetic towards the other team.

Well I don't believe we have 16k Rugby fans in the city all of a sudden, the fans haven't popped out of thin air they have come from somewhere, we don't know the overlap is the honest answer. IMO these aren't diehard rugby fans who have appeared, clearly a number will be rugby fans but a section of the crowd (I believe a fairly significant number) will be the casual sport followers and the day trippers/bandwagon types who would have been at Crewe, Gillingham, Arsenal, Spurs, MK etc. and then we have those who were fairly big followers of CCFC but have became disenchanted with the club (will be a much smaller number). Imo there will be a large section of the crowd who have had more of an affiliation with CCFC over the last 10 years than they have had with Wasps.

We know the majority have been from CV postcodes, it is very likely that before 2014 they had no affiliation with Wasps. Are they all massive CCFC with season tickets and don't missed a game before we went to Sixfields, clearly they would not be. But again I would say it is likely that a high % have been to a CCFC match within the last 5 years whether than only be one match like the Crewe JPT game, the Gillingham match, when tickets are cheap or several.

I'm not sure if its a fair assumption or not, I think its dependent on the individual, theres probably the diehards of each sport who live and breathe the sport but I wouldn't think this would be very high. These would be the 1000 or so ones who go to every away game and never miss a minute, other than that I'm not sure it is a good assumption. As primarily a football fans first I will watch England in Rugby but have no interest in club rugby, my Dad on the other hand was a massive Rugby fan in his youth but has been a season ticket holder for about 7 years at the Ricoh now.

One thing I will point out about your assumption as I mentioned earlier. I think a section of the 16k who have been at the Ricoh are not proper Rugby fans and have probably never been to more than at most a couple of Rugby matches before Wasps arrived.

If the "team present" was a tenant and you were the owner would you be of the same opinion?

i suspect that any decision as to change of seats (if ever to happen) will be governed by cost.

Never heard people moaning about sitting in Red sets last season apparently it was better ground, easier to get to and all the fans were pleasant friendly and quiet well some things don't change then.....

I'd guess that if Wasps were to change the seats they will do it gradually over a period of time. I've read it would cost a couple of million to replace them all.
