ACL should open the Ricoh on the first 'home' game and cover the match via CWR (as suggested in a post elsewhere). If we could half fill the Ricoh and boycott Sixfields, the national media would have to take notice, even Sky.

Maybe we could even get Sky to send someone to cover the game .... from the Ricoh.
It's got to be newsworthy.

It would also prove that we have not been kicked out of the Ricoh.

Yes good idea.. some form of an event- Radio Broadcast maybe and a few high profile personalities- like John Sillett, Booby G, great passionate Coventarians (Honorary is JS's case) rallying the crowd...what about a "Legends" game... I'm sure a few of those ex sky blues annually rolled out by the FPA could summon up a team or two?

Very good idea. Although I'm not sure whether there would be licensing issues with broadcasting CWR. If there are, maybe a supporters game if the opposition fans would be willing to help out.
It would be nice if it could be done and any profit made could perhaps go to the trust or a fighting fund.

Good idea, we could probably raise £52k to pay for it, plus spend another £43k on F&B'S to make sure ACL aren't out of pocket....

Why would it cost 52k to pay for it?

£1.2m divided by 23 games = £52k

Don't know why I'm even rising to this but here goes....

Surely it is in the interest of ACL to support such a protest. They are losing out financially by CCFC moving away.

And please don't quote £1.2 million a year. Everyone acknowledges that ACL were happy to reduce to £400k. I agree that was maybe not enough but ignoring the fact is plain silly.

Great idea, my old man had a good idea open the Ricoh up, free parking and have a bbq and play the fa cup final there. Kids enter for free adults pay a fiver something like that or even just a donation on entry! Meet some fellow fans like today and embrace our passion for the football club! I traveled from Lincoln ( I know not too far) today to join my fellow fans in protest! I love the way we protested , no trouble or anything and I loved the fact I now know I'm not one of a minority who feels this way about the situation of the club. Big respect too all the fans who turned up and the trust for organising it made my journey worth while. I know all the Lincoln and Grimsby fans I speak too are backing us on this journey to keep cov in cov so I hope we don't give up! I know I won't! Btw who are the 25% who would watch the city outside of cov? I'm yet to actually speak to anyone who is actually going to go and spend money going to watch them In Northampton! Maybe that's why the accounts are such a mess if they cannot work out that 0 out of 8000 who were questioned = 0% how on earth are they going to work out how much income vs outgoings in a year there have been lol! Keep the faith, not one penny more!

£1.2m is the current contract....and I meant it tongue in cheek....but imagine ACL would support the protest as it would strengthen their stance with supporters, great PR.

Maybe could do it for the game live on sky and show it on the big screen. That way we get to watch the actual match from the Ricoh. Presumably would only need the same licence as any pub. Maybe sky would buy into having a camera there then.

If we have an archive of 23 cracking games (Deano city forever) lets turn up watch those games on large screens and enjoy games and effort that our club were known for! After today's effort it will be a great distraction from our short sited owners. Great company, seeing old faces and enjoying going to watch OUR CLUB AGAIN!

Great idea, maybe they could arrange a live stream onto a screen at the Ricoh. Not sure how realistic that is though or how difficult it would be to do. If not a radio broadcast of the game on CWR would still be good

I think the Former Players Association are planning something in Cov that day to be announced this week.

not a cat in hells chance we would get the pictures, no way would SISU agree to that. CWR is different though. Someone might need to speak to BBC, but its possible.

I have said all along that radio commentary of the game, followed by an old boys game, would be the perfect message to SISU

I know what's happening CJ although I have too much respect for the guy that told me to spoil it although I think many will probably have guessed but just to say if it comes off and we get behind it then it will send a clear and symbolic message to SISU they will not succeed
with this stupid plan.

Great idea, doing something like this for the televised game against Sheffield Utd.

Today has made a big difference, a number of positive ideas are coming out.

I'm not one for politics in football, but maybe getting one side on board would enhance any chance of staying at the Ricoh. It's been done before, streaming live onto the main screen at football stadiums for fans unable to attend the actual match for whatever reason. Good idea to stage something on first 'home' game.

Even if no broadcasting - equal resolve to that SISU have show will be needed to have an effect. Everyone turn up at the Ricoh for 3pm EVERY home match as a kind of vigil...ok obviously they get to sit/stand in the car park - stay there resolute peacefully singing perhaps until half-time before simply going home.

In my view we need to have all future events in the Ricoh area. It does not have to be organised as such. Our intentions could be broadcast as a commentary on what people want to do rather than having to give notice of an event happening.

No but you can put me on ignore if you want. Again I'm not defending them and have already said I won't be renewing my season ticket. Being critical of ACL does not make pro sisu.

Ps if you don't like my posts DON'T READ them

If we were to listen or watch in the ground it would result in massive media coverage provided the number are great

How about the Ricoh being opened up on the Saturday and they play the FA cup of 1987 on the screen and all the fans were in the prawn sandwich brigades seats. I would pay an entrance fee

Anyone able to contact Hoffman? If he and his group were willing to pay the rent, they might be able to guarantee ACL any short falling 'home' games might bring.

If the Ricoh has a valid PRS/PPL license, and I'd bet it does given the music played before matches then I don't think there should be any problems with broadcasting CWR. We have a PRS license for the shop and normally have the radio on or a CD and I believe we're covered for both of those.

We couldn't get the damn place half full when there was a game on unless it was a premiership team ...if we had then we wouldn't be in this mess...
