Don't remind me. I was all set to go to the Norwich match on the 18th December at the Ricoh a few years ago and watched in horror as it began to snow so much that the place I was staying at with a mate got cut off by road. Couldn't see to drive safely anyway so we're not going to make it, took consolation in the fact that the match will likely be cancelled. Switch on CWR and they're cheerfully reporting that the game is still on, so we sat listening to the wireless instead of going to the Ricoh - Should have called it off as we ended up losing.

I had tickets for that game, was at my folks in Coventry and they convinced me there was no chance of the game being on and to head back home before the weather got too bad. Ended up just about being able to listen to the game on CWR stuck in the snow at the M40 turning for the A34. Took me about 12 hours to get home!

That just shows the lack of reality at the time.

I know you may not agree, but to me we are lucky to have ended up with the Ricoh after our owners at the time f$cked up so much. Our club has been amongst the worst run for too many years now, and every time I think it can't get worse............

Oh for the days that I got pissed off with the nearly yearly relegation battle. Looking at the other teams and thinking that any of their bench would walk into our first team. Now I would be happy to have enough players to make up a squad where all positions were covered and playing in Coventry.

I don't remember the brochures, but I did go to a forum where they had a live, working scale model of Arena 2000, complete with sliding pitches and roof.

Strachan, ham-fisted dolt that he was*, broke it during the demo (or had broken it earlier). But it was still very impressive.

* Actually, he was great, lucky enough to have met him a couple of times. A real gent with a great sense of humour. Not sure he was a great manager for us, but as a player and a man I've got the utmost respect for him.

Sorry I never meant it to sound like that.

It just gets to me sometimes with how what we had being taken for granted. I was one of those. So I suppose supporters like myself are partly to blame for the downfall of our club. I always wanted better. But the best teams we put out in my days were in the 80's although we didn't have the best players.

If they changed their name to Coventry XXX, then today NO, tomorrow maybe, the future yes. The next generation of football fans will also not see a team playing in Northampton as their local team so time is not on our side.

Very true. We're one of the best passing teams in League one! and if the pitch won't allow that then we don't have a chance of playoffs.

I have lived in a fair few places since I left Coventry. I have tried watching a few clubs local to where I have lived. It just isn't the same. I haven't bothered where I live now. Not even the away days are anywhere near the same. You cheer when they score and smile when they have a goal against.....and applaud every good goal against. Grimsby town were the worse. Some think we don't have many songs. They have one. Sing when we're fishing

CCFC for me. Always has been and always will be. And if our club ever dies I will see where my heart is before I decide to support a phoenix club or not. I sometimes join mates to watch their club with them. But it is more like a day on the piss more than anything.
