I am surprised that none of you have commented on the Refs performance at the weekend. I thought he was absolutely appalling, giving bad decisions to both team and not giving bookings were there should've been. Personally I think that the Boro guy was deserving of his two yellows but the straight red? I thought it was a yellow tbh.

My mate missed the first 20 minutes and when he came out I said "the ref is shocking". As the words left my mouth there was a foul on a city player right infront of him worthy of Yellow and then Mcsheff fouled the Boro player to get the ball back, again without so much as a free kick.

I believe in letting the match flow where appropriate, but this guy was awful.

All views are my own and I did attend the match.

That was a Clear red card for me.
Two footed.

Clear Red for Arca. Both challenges deserved bookings. Can't see what Mowbray was moaning about. Didn't like his little spin before showing the red to Thomson though. Just showing off.

When I watched it on TFLS it looked like it was one footed with a leg to the side? I've seen many challenges like that, that don't result in a red.

There have been worse refs at the ricoh this season!

I think it was a red. He went in studs up, personally I don't mind those challenges but it is the rules of the game and with all of the controversy lately he probably had to. He did lose control in the first half when people were getting fouled and getting up and then fouling out of frustration.

Although the lino who missed the ball going out when Christie mis controlled it needed his eyes testing

(apart from giving us the goal)

You can't go flying in like that these days, it was uncontrolled. I didn't think the second yellow was warranted, the first seemed like a yellow to me though whereas the commentary didn't think so. The same old problem, just like Mowbray said, that there was no consistency.

I'm not going to complain though, a win and three goals!

I thought he did ok, got the red card right, listened to his assistant for Nimelys goal and let some scraps for the ball go. I liked him.

Can anyone actually say if it went in or not? I've seen the replays several times and I just cannot tell.

There were other parts of his performance that I thought were bad, not just the bookings.

I still can't tell, although I think what gave it was Nimely celebrating and them not protesting.

Looking at it on the TV it does appear that the defenders foot is well past the post, when hooking the ball away. It looked like it crossed the line to me. We really need some Goal Line Tech asap.

I'm not complaining but I thought (for once) all the contentious decisions went our way.

I thought the second goal might not have been given. I thought HH could've been sent off for some swinging arms when their player was on the floor. And then obviously the 2 sendings off.

Not complaining in the slightest and i think it was about time we had some bloody luck! PUSB

My take on the Arca Red Card.

IF what happened with Vincent Kompany against United was a straight red (I don't agree it was), then what Arca did is absolutely a straight red. To me, he went in, both feet together, and those kinds of challenges can do serious damage to players. I have no doubt in my mind it was a straight red card.

What else did you think was bad about his performance ?

Two footed challenge, straight red. Considered dangerous.

Thought the ref, though not good, was no worse than most refs we've had here this season.

clear goal to me, as for the red / 2 yellows, (2nd yellow, deegan got booked for the same type of challenge) i thought they were spot on, he also let play go on, which i like, too much stopping and starting frustrates the hell out of me,

I thought there were a few times that he made the wrong decision, didn't give free kicks when he should've (no advantage). That sort of thing.

Yeah there were a few niggly little things that he got wrong, but overall I thought he was average compared to some of the refs we've had this season.

You're correct in that he was poor but then again how many 'good' referees have we seen at the Ricoh over the past three or four years? I think that the standard of refereeing we've got used to means that unless there has been something particularly dreadful we just bite the bullet and get on with it. Saturday's team (ref and linesmen) were typical and to me that's the real problem in that there does not seem to be anything happening to improve things.:thinking about:

one of the best refs we had nice to see the officials help us get three points for a change instead of the opposition

The Sunday Mirror gave him 7 /10! He did appear to give us more decisions than Boro which is why TM was complaining I think. I thought he was OK and no worse than others we have had. Definate sending off two footed challenge same as Bigi vs Burnley! PUSB

No questions about the straight red, especially based on the sendings off we've had last couple of seasons with King, Gunnarsson, Bigi and Baker all seeing red for similar challenges. Even the Leicester supporting football league show agreed with the bookings!

I thought he made some good decisions. The ball looked over the line. Looked at it a few times. The nearly standing leg was close to the line. The other leg was well in front of the 1st leg. This was the leg that got the ball

There was no bias in his decisions, so was consistant. We also won, so happy with him.

No arguments with either red card. Especially Arca's at the end. It was two footed. Also there was no difference between that one and Bigi's straight red against Burnley.

To be honest I thought he did alrite, got all the big calls right, let a few things slide which I prefer then the constant stop of play for little grievances. I think 7/10 is about spot on. Ez

As a ref myself I'd say the 2nd yellow was a little soft, otherwise can't really disagree with the decisions-remember King and Gunnar's straight reds for essentially the same thing last season? Go in with studs up and two feet raised, you're asking for trouble.
