Just realised, that no-one has mentioned the ref yesterday have they?

Thought he was pretty dreadful.

Seemed a clear pen to me when Clarke got sandwiched in the box early on and that Murphy of theirs should have been sent off when swinging his arm into Dickinson's face.

Couldn't believe it when he merely produced a yellow card each.

There seemed to be a number of incidents where he was poor and the sub thing of Crewe's was bizarre too.

He stopped play for Crewe to make a substitution and the Crewe sub wasn't even ready and when he was still taking his tracksuit top off.

Muprhy and Dickinson should have both walked, and yes, him and the linesmen were dreadful. Crewe's gamesmanship was also shocking.

Amateurish at best.

It seemed like he didn't quite know what he was doing.

There were also a couple of clear good tackles by us that he gave free kicks to them for. They were so clearly good tackles. Recall Big Cyrille on the radio having a bit of a go about him too.

Didn't affect the outcome...we should have buried Crewe just like we should have in the JPT home leg +countless other matches this season...

On par with the rest of the refs in this league, it's been the biggest difference between championship and league one for me, massive drop in class in refeering

I thought the linesman was worse. The ball blatantly went over the line several times and he ignored it or wasn't observant enough and missed it.

Like all refs in this league he weren't great but I didn't think he particularly affected the outcome of the game. Clarkes looked like a pen but I would need to see it again.

He could've sent both Murphy and Dickinson off in that incident.

Quite a few times the ref was clearly talking to players holding his whistle and then our players were trying to take a quick freekick, which exacerbated the crowd but that's the players fault.

Recall that one where Baker was involved and the ball went up in the air. Is that one of them you are talking about Torch?

Ball clearly bounced beyond the touchline and out of play in front of the Tesco Stand.

Yeah, and another when the whole ball crossed the line when Crewe had possession and the linesman didn't spot it.

If I was in charge of the game then I would make officials explain their actions as managers have to do.

If that was when their player was dribbling i didn't think the whole ball was out of play.

They were awful. Ref and Lino's.

Atleast three occasions the ball went out of play for a throw Lloyds pharmacy side and play wasnt stopped.

Tesco stand lino had a good view of the Dickinson incident but said nothing. Ref flapped it and I can only imagine Dickinson swore at him of the lino hence him getting a yellow himself.

We deserved atleast one pen, but then Crewe probably deserved one too when Edge barged their man off the ball. Yes it was just a shoulder barge but you do see pens given for things like that

Dickinson raised his hand to murphys face/neck you can't do that, seen players sent off for similar incidents.

i couldnt believe that and to rub it in Crewe then scored from the next phase of play and it was the sub who scored it!

Jacko you've hit the nail on the head with this comment. All refs should be made to go before the cameras after the match to explain their decisions.
CWR would'nt let me go on the phone in after yesterday's game because i wanted to rant about the crap ref and his apology for linesman..:jerkit:'s the lot of em!!!

I'm sorry... There was a clear sending off but instead both players got booked. How does that not affect the outcome of a game? The very fact he booked our player then awarded US the free kick displays that the guy hadn't a clue.

I also agree with the linesmen. All were awful but sadly, thats what we've come to expect from this league.

By the letter of the law both players should have been sent off - Murphy for the elbow and Dickinson for grabbing his face in retaliation.

The linesman along the Tesco was shocking, I'm considering moving seats to the front row, so I can give them the stick they deserve, how much do they get paid to do their job so badly ?
It makes me so cross at the games sitting watching these idiots getting 50/60 % of decisions wrong.
The idiot running the line on Wednesday was equally bad.

I've thought the refs in all 3 games against the smart Alex have influenced the outcome ,you only have to look at the stats that back it up .The ratio of bookings and fouls given suggest an imbalance or we're a dirty team ,or of course Crewe like a lot of others in this division are very cute at playing the Ref .

EDIT; Wednesdays Idiot was a blatant HOMER.

Agree Wingy why do we never get a Homer, other than that female lino we had a couple of times ?

Remember that well and it was a clear pen. Anywhere else on the field that would have been a free kick, but because it was in the box and only about a minute had gone the ref bottled it.

Clear pen. Thought Clarke's was a clear pen too on Saturday.

Referee was shite as were the linesman, gave most things against us although I thought at one point he could have given a penalty to Crewe for a possible foul by Edjenguele

Yeh I'm sure he'd have given it if the lad had'nt pushed it too far in front of himself .There was a stage possibly through Nov-Dec where I twas impressed and thought we had 4-5 good refs on the bounce ,if that coincided with a decent run of form maybe my view is skewed when we lose .

I think those were the times when we had experienced FL Refs - Kettle, Deadman and Durso spring to mind. I've not heard of half the ones we had recently. Other interesting thing I noticed yesterday was that in the first half the ref made all the decisions but in the second half the linesmen both flagged for loads more. It was as if the ref said at half time "I need some help"

The ref's the reason you lost now is it? You get some terrible luck you lot don't you? Always the victims of injustice, the outcome of a game always outside your control. You got comprehesively outmanoeuvred and outwitted by the technically superior team and managerial and coaching staff, stop looking for excuses. By the way Murphy has no history of discipline problems whereas dickinson's a complete nutter isn't he?

Are you a stalker or just very very very sad.

Go talk with like minded Crewe fans, and embrace the fact you are going to Wembley, or if not go get a life, and leave us to debate/moan amongst ourselves.

(I am sure you also have fans who blame the ref, the linesmen, opposition fans, ground, pitch, half time tea etc when you lose or are you the most perfect football fans in the country? well apart from you stalker boy.)

It is merely an observation that the referee was shite, if you were at the game you would agree.

I've said I think he may have missed a penalty for Crewe and a few have said Dickie was lucky to stay on also so has does that fit in with what you are saying?

A draw would probably have been a fair result despite what you say about being outmanoeuvred, it was a lot tighter game than the JPT game at the Ricoh in terms of the play if not the scoreline
