The problem with the Ricoh
I mean there are many problems with the ricoh but my main issue is that it's turned into a rugby playing field and that is no good for us to play football on. The pitch is destroyed.

It looked good on Saturday compared to most league 1 pitches

We haven’t been doing to bad on it either considering we’re flirting with the play off places after being promoted from the league below last season

Clutching at straws. Did you see Accrington Stanley’s pitch? It wasn’t even level ffs. And we were in total control there. Or Bescott Beach Stadium? Would you have agreed to a BPA groundshare? It would have been even worse.

I was going to say Accrington pitch looked like a barren rock hard field

They showed Half time highlights from Cov match from 90s few weeks and the pitch at Highfield Road was terrible. Made me think Ricoh isn't actually that bad. From what I remember from Highfield Road the pitch sloped into corner too

Wasn’t our pitch in the early 90s mostly sand?

Or the fact that Wasps don't put money into ensuing the pitch is suitable for its tenants.

Plenty other stadiums share rugby and football.

From what I remember the Accrington pitch had fuck all grass but was still a flat hard surface. The problem with the Ricoh isn’t necessarily grass cover but that it’s lumpy and the ball doesn’t travel well.

AND if Wasps go down the same route as CRFC by installing a 4G pitch ? Then we're royally fucked....

I remember moaning about sixfields with 2 teams playing on it.
We paid for their new pitch then never played on it bar the away game there.

Easy excuse to use if you lose a game.......

The thing I remember mostly about the baseball ground was the restricted view for away fans, due to the very low roof/stand above.

Is that the biggest problem with the Ricoh?

And if you were at the front, you couldn’t see the players on the far sides boots or the ball. The pitch sloped down both sides from the middle.

That’s right! A lot of these old grounds certainly had ‘character’.
I remember going to molineux in the early 90s; two of the stands were closed and the main/newest stand was about 30 metres away from the pitch!

The pitch is the same for both teams playing, so it's no advantage or disadvange for either.

Mind you remember when we all that rain at the Ricoh and the ball stopped in front of Grimmer and their player just took it as he slid through and they scored - kin 15 egg chasing hephalants compacting the area

Is the pitch more important for teams playing passing football or long balls?

And night games there when that stamping works was working blasting smoke over the ground, you couldn’t see or breathe without coughing.
