Coventry City notebook as two deals pending and injuries assessed

The latest Coventry City news and views from CoventryLive as we catch up with the things you might have missed at Sky Blues
www.coventrytelegraph.net

Deal expected to be announced to be staying at the CBS until the end of the year before fresh talks on a new 10 year agreement

Doug King Takeover expected immanently

2 players close to signing with one potentially being announced in the next week or two. (Could this be Panzo being confirmed as a permanent? Seems odd announcing so early)

How can they be announced in the next week? Free agents or agreements to join in January?

Not in the signing sense. 3 coming back from injury but another 3 being looked at by physios. OP may have got confused by the CT saying 2 deals pending. Technically, they are correct but it's click bait. Pending is correct, CCFC and Fraser Group agreeing on terms to allow CCFC to continue playing at the Arena. And EFL to confirm King is our new King ??!!

As for players, we have no recruitment team as Badlan and his mate left for Blackpool. So we can't look for players until Robins can pick some others to do that job. That is the CT's version of our "recruitment problem".

Standard journo form for our local rag.

Shame they didn't mention Hummel. I can't believe we can't buy directly from the manufacturer and ship them over ourselves. Probably cheaper than paying the extra for a third party to handle things. Unless there's something BREXIT/EU that I don't know about and we'd be breaking 60,000 international laws if we tried.

Because business right? Builders don't buy bricks from the people that make bricks do they... you don't buy buy tomatoes from the Italian guy, you get them from the supermarket...

I get your point but there are subtle differences in your argument, all based on demand. I honestly don't know how many bricks a builder may lay in a day/week but that's an ongoing demand. It's easier for them to get them from somewhere that has a constant, local steady stock so their productivity doesn't diminish. Same with your tomatoes. I don't buy them from a grower and neither does the supermarket I get them from. But the supermarket has an ongoing demand for those products that needs to be refreshed constantly. So they get them from a central store/wholesaler who does get them from growers.

My thought was CCFC could, in theory, place an order with a kit manufacturer for x number of items for delivery for the start of the forthcoming season. And then, depending on uptake, they may only need occasional top-ups throughout the season. We don't have the same constant demand of shirts, scarves or mugs throughout the year.

As for Fadzean, he suffered a calf injury during a warm-up game of head tennis last week which left him on crutches and being sent for a scan
