The Plan? (1 Viewer)

Obviously from next season the books have to balance, I don't see other clubs doing what were doing and aiming for that this year. Do you think that's the plan? Next season clubs will HAVE to do what were doing? Do they plan to sit tight and hope to stay in this division and be one step ahead next year?

The brave (or foolish?) may invest heavily this year, in desperate bid to reach the riches of the premiership.....but only three can succeed......does this mean others will go under, I wonder?

It will be very interesting, one thing no one has thought of is "what if the academy lads come through and break into the first team" if that happens and works we could be in a good position! Remember Liverpool wanted and got Conor for 6 months and I no A few teams have watched Gale as well ! If they do come through then next season we could be
In a good position when the rule comes in! the academy in recent seasons hasn't been utilised enough IMO!

I guess it depends on how much of a gamble the owners are willing to take. Cardiff tried spending heavily last season and that backfired, now they have lost a lot of their better players and could struggle this season. Leicester have tried that this season, it remains to be seen whether it will work for them. We on the other hand have a complete opposite set of owners, ones that are not prepared to invest significant amounts. They are hoping that we can sign cheap/free players, improve them and then sell them on for profit or for them to push us up the table. It would be nice if we saw SISU invest a little to show some ambition, but that isn't their way. It is frustrating, but I would not want them to throw money at the playing squad, us then fail, to then be in an even worse position.
Our only plan is to keep signing cheap players and selling them on for profit, hoping to maintain our status in this league, until a serious investor comes in, buys the Ricoh and provides funds for the team that do not risk the future of the clubs existence.

One thing we need to do, whether we like SISU or not, is pack the Ricoh as much as we can. Every penny that goes into the club helps.
I know people are saying that they will not pay a penny to SISU, but by doing that, you are hurting the club as well.

Cov scott by filling the ricoh might give Sisu the enthusiasm to stick around for longer. With the funds the club are currently generating Sisu are doing the right thing in terms of not overstretching on the squad. But Sisu are never going to invest enough to give us a crack at going up.

True, kind of a Catch 22 situation really.

I still agree with what Scott is saying but we all know CCFC fans won't turn up unless we have been in the top 6 all season and there are 7-8 games to go or we get Chelsea in the FA Cup. Teams like Leeds can make decent signings because the fans turn up week in week out, teams like Leicester on the other hand can make decent signings because they suddenly find some owners who are wiling to risk everything for a shot at the big time. So unless we find some owners with some good monies or we suddenly start packing the Ricoh out (not likely!) then we will be stuck in this rut unless we do a Blackpool one season.
