Any word on if ACL are sorting it? It is shocking and it only going to get worse as the weather does.

Linnel was saying there Is a two week window with no games now and he's convinced It will be sorted ,currently they just use contractors .

Believes Wasps were going for 4G ,which apparently doesn't exist .

Should think permanent Grounds man will now be employed .

Remember Notts County away last year? The pitch was decimated and they only have County and Nottingham rugby playing on it don't they ?

Did make me laugh. Absolutely adamant it's going to be like a billiard table. Can he not remember how poor the pitch was in the 2012/13 season after the Olympics, and that was without us sharing the pitch with a rugby team, WBA U21's and CCFC ladies.

And that was when he had an award winning groundsman.

True mate ,but also one of the Coldest winters for years and the gas on for around ten days In one spell.( think they cooked the grass)

The main reason I feel for this season coupled with the number of games was the lack of maintenance prior to return and post Exit.

The Iminent Insomnia event by the Way Is restricted to the Jag Hall and the Lounges /Other function Suites .

Be interesting to see the type of new pitch the opt for, and whether they replace it ASAP, or wait for the end of the season, the Rugby season and not the football though unfortunately

anyone know if there is any legislation that says a pitch has be a certain type, length of grass etc in football? As the spec for the new pitch will ultimately be based on rugby standards over football! Just hope the rules are similar!

Hopefully something is done now

We only have two games between now and 20th December at home, with Wasps kicking off on the 21st it looks like a good opportunity to do something.

It doesn't need just a bit of gardening though, it needs a complete ripping up and starting from scratch so not sure if they will be able to do it or wait for the end of the season.

I doubt they can do a re turf at this time of year ,short days ,lack of sunlight .

However If they started today and got the sunlamps across the whole Surface 24 a day It might just knit.

It 's still that one as far as I know ,like I said elsewhere ,that cold spell where we got all our games on where all others were postponing didn't help IMO.

I don't really know how they work as I'm not a groundsman.

Maybe they need a high work of maintenance which hasn't been given over the last 2 years. Or maybe they need replacing or some sort of the system needs replacing/upgrade to keep the quality high after a certain period of time, it's been almost 10 years now since the Ricoh was opened.

The Ricoh hasn't got a desso pitch by the looks of it

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desso_GrassMaster

It doesn't appear on here and this is all I can find about it on here

http://www.pitchcare.com/magazine/plenty-of-xtra-grass-to-cut-at-the-ricoh-arena.html

Seems a similar idea
