Yep after all the horror stories I was pleasantly surprised by the pitch looked to be playing well too as well as looking better!

I thought it looked good but didn't seem to play very well. The grass seemed long, players would struggling to control passes and the ball kept getting caught underneath their feet.

I guess it helps the pitch when a proper sport is played on it and not that strange game with the odd shaped ball.

Seem to remember watching a game at Selhurst Park near the start of the season where the pitch had longer grass than normal. Someone suggested that this was deliberate, they practiced on it and it was done to make it harder for the opposition to play on.

Last Rugby game at the Ricoh was 8th March, I'm surprised it recovered as well as it has tbh as during the Bradford game it was one of the worse pitches I had ever seen and looked unrecoverable at that point.

And, so I understand, a new pitch to be laid in the Summer?

groundsman has been having some fun with the design over the last 2 games although i would add from block 20 i couldnt make out the penalty area in front of the away end dont know it was just our angle or if it was very thinly put on

The same company (Green fields UK) that laid the original Ricoh pitch will be a laying it. It will be hybrid pitch that some other cubs seem to be using. They also will help with maintenance of the pitch.

There were a few rough patches on Saturday, but overall the pitch looked pretty good.

It isn't being worn down with constant and repetitive sideways passing as it was earlier in the season.

Remember the pitch had been neglected even before CCFC went to Northampton. It has not been good for football, in fairness even the rugby side of things have complained about it.

Obviously emergency work has been done on it, also in recent weeks it has benefited from a rest from rugby.

Next season will be a more realistic time to judge it.

Well the company that laid the new temporary pitch were staying on to maintain it until they can lay the new one at the end of the season, so fewer games and an upturn in the weather i would expect some improvement. Hopefully next season a 'proper' pitch will hold up with both the rugby and football games going on (and hopefully no marquees being put up on it).

yep its had a bit of time to recover and its Spring, Sun and rain. I would also imagine they have had those big lights set up on it to stimulate growth. I did however think it was slightly long.

Probably a bit longer so they could try and comb over some of the bare patches
