Was just having a nose around on the Wasps forum to see what they're saying about the Ricoh move - seems to have been accepted now, more talk about where people want to sit and what beer there is than talk of protests!

Anyway while on there I saw a report from a fans forum they held last week. At the forum some of the details of the Ricoh deal were given to their supporters and one thing that caught my eye was 'Any profits from revenue generated by the arena, other than that by Coventry F C, but including their rent will go directly to Wasps coffers as will rent from concessions and profits from ancillary activities'.

Now it could well be that someone has got the wrong end of the stick but if what they are saying is correct where is that money going? Can we assume we're getting it? If that's the case is that inline with the existing deal or something that has been put in to benefit us - doubting the council gave us a second thought but you never know!

The other thing that may interest some on here is apparently there will be a change in the beers available and also some on draft.

Won't be getting any F&B money as Compass have a contract to either 2018 or 2020!

Compass only own 20something % if the joint venture don't they with ACL owning the rest? If what you're saying is correct how would Wasps be getting those revenues from non CCFC events?

Wasps will own ACL. I presume ACL will still exist, but the revenues will still flow to ACL and to the new owners as before. So 50% now and presumably 100% later to Wasps.

That looks like one of those games where you are allowed to change one letter or add/subtract one to get from one word to another.
Each interim step needs to be a word or relevant acronym.

Try this one ....

SISU
....
....
...
....

The contractual set up between Compass IEC and ACL is disclosed in the 2013 accounts of ACL and IEC. That wont have changed yet if it is to at all

They certainly won't be impressed if they have to pay £6.88 a pint for it either.

Think they'll be able to organise a decent pre-event Village /Pre-match Zone in the Jag hall with all sorts of fine beer and Fayre available at semi respectable prices guaranteeing them a reasonable profit .

Going by my Twickenham England vs Wales experience earlier in the year I would say that's very possible. Not every games but big European games certainly and maybe even for "local" derbies like Saints or Tiger's. I would say there's a good chance Guinness would take on a big part of it all by themselves going by the beer tent they erected outside of Twickenham.

But if they model their catering on Neath or Pontypool, horse in the pie would be a step up!

And us this effectively Compass only getting 23% of F&B..
To the extent that Compass don't even view the Ricoh as a significant contract in their portfolia?

If we are getting all the F&B on match days except the compass part,
We really are struggling for an excuse for this new stadium threat?

That's a big IF, though based on wasps forum

I think I've finally cracked SISUs plan - serve up sh*te football by continuous downgrading of team (nearly achieved this objective), which will drive the die hard 6,000 or so to drink. They are relying on all profits coming from several thousand alcoholics, who will drink copious amounts of lukewarm lager to wash away the odd thousand dodgy pies (allegedly). The football is all a sideshow. I sussed you out SISU - come on Tim, deny it!!

I thought the general consensus what that compass own 23% of IEC, but part of that deal they were commissioned/contracted to deliver events including F&B's, and as part of tang take a % cut of profit for delivering events and F&B's before it goes into IEC. So they would get a lot more than 23% of F&B's.

Plus if their contract is until 2018 and it will take us until 2018 at least to build a new stadium.

It makes no difference to us to wait and buy out their share if the contract if we can agree this with wasps?

We don't know. But it does make sense when you consider ACL told us that IEC only made c10% profit on F&B's, so compass must be making decent money on the contracted services.

I don't pretend to understand all this, however Somebody told me that compass see the F&B at the Ricoh as small feed and it hardly features on their radar. I know its somebody who know somebody etc etc etc.

I wonder if we ever spoke to them about purchasing their share?
