Ok I've been drinking, but sometimes good ideas come from that.

1thing that SISU will claim is that we won't travel 34 miles to see CCFC but how about we prove them wrong!

We travel to Northamptons games and watch them in CCFC colours but not go to CCFC games held their. This would show that we love our club and will travel anywhere to see them, but not back SISU.

What the feck are you talking about? The club don't expect us to spend all our cash on going to see Cov playing in Northampton, so let's all do go just to prove them wrong. Are you fucking retarded?

That is indeed the opposite.

The exact opposite of why people are pee'd off. Fans will not travel and don't wish to travel to see a Coventry team playing 33 miles away.

The notion that people travel to Northampton is daft beyond the extreme.

I am beginning to think sisu aren't that bothered about fans not going. They have done the maths, halved the wage bill and I think are budgeting for about a 3000 gate. A third of that could be away supporters. I think what pipkin is trying to say is if lots of fans just turn up, hang about it will be a drain especially on police resources which at these days of cutbacks won't be popular.

Rupert, you've put soberly what Pipkin was trying to say. Go to the Northampton ground, don't go in but be a presence in enough numbers. Policing, it costs. Northampton, SISU, they won't like it. SISU fight dirty and sneakily, we've got to do the same. We can do it for first few games, nothing violent, just there, picketing if you like.

IMO,the coach pick-up points will be the place to show them that you don't agree with them. Silent protest. Turn your backs on them. They will soon get the message!

And abusing the completely wrong targets. If people continue to go watch the team they're not the enemy or supporting SISU or whatever the spin is (in much the same way as season ticket holders have been incredibly referred to as worms and scum here), they just want to watch the team.

I don't ever remember bring called scummy for my 30 tears as a st holder but I won't he watching in notthampton. Genuine away games only for me next season.

It's happened on this forum, particularly last season as season ticket holders were referred to as anything from scum to worms, and general hints at traitor. Including from one guy who flouts his own tax avoidance, which boggles the mind.

People who want to go see their football team play football shouldn't be slagged off for doing so, they're not the problem by any stretch of the imagination.

It's not continuing as if everything is fine, it's just continuing to support the team. It doesn't advocate what's going on any more than any of us were supporting sexual abuse by watching Marlon King turn out up front.

The whole penny campaign isn't a factual method to achieve a goal, it's a theory that goes with the idea that they'll stop funding losses and building up debt. I'm far from convinced they will. I'm not going to home games now even if they do a 180 and stay put, but anyone that does wherever it is shouldn't be criticised.

Divide the fans, and we help kill the club.

When all this is over our best hope of moving on is as many as possible want to be there to pick up the pieces. That includes those who don't feel able to go now, and those who feel their way to support the team is to go whatever happens.

We need everybody after all this.

There is an end.

The right to an opinion does not give the right to force yours on others.

Especially when the way of doing that risks hurting that which you care most about, a future for the/a club after this, with fans united as one looking toward an optimistic future.

Let those who want to go in do so, some will plenty won't. I know a lad who has gone to something like 400 consecutive matches why should a prick like Tim Fisher stop that run. Actually fans inside the game and others outside will increase the police costs. They will police the game not knowing exactly what will happen and will have to man up accordingly. Remember there are a 1000 or so away fans to think about too.

Imagine if a protest at Northampton during a game got media attention, and the question was asked 'what do you say to the people who have not joined the protest'

Would a better answer be 'we respect their decision but hope to convince them', or 'we've just been shouting scab at them'

Positive, constructive protests are the way forward, such as the Ricoh opened for games, or going to other clubs to spread the word. Anything that avoids the negative publicity of Cov fan against Cov fan, and the risk at the end of it all everyone has done exactly what's been hoped for, and are so divided what happens to the club is an irrelevance.

We may have different views over who's right and who's wrong, we may have different views on how best to support OUR club, but at the end of the day WE are the ones who'll lose if we end up so split after this we're unable to come together again.

Having said that, depending on the FL and how all of this finally turns out, I believe the fan base is already split beyond redemption. It would appear very clear that a significant number of fans will not support home games away from Coventry. It also appears quite clear that a significant number of fans are saying that if SISU take us out of Coventry for a number of years, then they are no longer a Coventry club, and therefore they would support another local team, stop supporting football altogether, support a Phoenix team etc. I therefore make the assumption that SISU and Fisher have already succeeded in splitting the fan base irrevocably.

I guess that as fans we all have to do what we feel we need to do and go our own ways as amicably as possible. On this point, SISU have already won, even while they must imho ultimately lose.

I don't agree. Maybe that's naive but, I don't agree. We're kind of used to naff owners(!) we're kind of used to crises, but maybe we need an actual crisis rather than threatened crises to wake us up, and that awakening can be in a positive way. It can be down the Ricoh to listen to the games, it can be to other local clubs to spread the word it can be, if that's your choice, following the team in Northampton if we end up there.

And none of those options stop us forgetting or being able to asset the message that whatever those in power do, WE are Coventry City, and that much unites us wherever we are. WE are the identity and that identity can be dispersed physically, but we share that much emotionally.

And best comes to the best and the club never leaves or comes back, we can celebrate a victory, appreciate what we have, and realise that nothing can take away that essence of what WE are.

Worst comes to the worst and the club dies or never comes back, we realise we need each other, whatever our broad views are, and we appreciate ourselves for ourselves and that collective purpose can drive our new entity to new heights, different in name from before, but carrying the same spirit yet driven by a new desire and a love for what WE are.

Whatever else we must make sure we are not split on that, for if we do then we have let people win battles that are not even theirs to have, or ours to take part in.

For WE are Coventry City FC.
