Excellent first season for LaFleur, answered a lot of questions that were being asked of him and Rodgers seems to have bought into his way of doing things.

Expect Jones to go on for another big year next year, defence just couldn't stop the run last night. Having to play catch up with the 12th best qb OAT only compounded the misery unfortunately.

Rodgers showed he the goat in that 2nd half. He cant stop run or do the snap himself ens of day

Those throws noone else can do. He won the 2nd half i believe? Team let him down

But getting nfc championship game with packers is bigger acheievement than bradys superbowls with pats

If you dont agree you must be new age fan who just got into nfl when bbc got the rights

49ers took their foot off a little in the second half in my opinion.

GOAT of garbage yards and TD's lol.

1st half (when it was a competitive game) Punt, Punt, Punt, Fumble, Interception, Punt. 0-27.

Could be a cracker now, Kansas City surely can't afford another wobbly start this time out. I can't bring myself to root for the 49ers but I'd love to see Richard Sherman win it again. Finished after that Achilles injury two years ago apparently, done at the top level. Next contract will just be a payday with no glory yeah

could well come down to controlling the 49ers run game - same principle as the Titans game but the 49ers run it differently. Packers & Vikings couldn't deal with the run and it gave Garropolo a fairly comfortable ride. Don't think 49ers pass rush will give Mahomes as much time or space as Titans did.
But when Mahomes and the offense click they do just have too much speed for most sides.
Sometimes flair just gets it done in the SB eg Rams (warner's), Eagles.

Brady to the Chargers gaining momentum. Seems it's between them and staying at the Patriots.
They need something to boost ticket sales.
They have the offensive weapons Brady hasn't got in Boston atm.
Plenty of cap space for Chargers
he's sold his Boston house and has one already in LA.

Something strange popped up on my Twitter the other day saying Belichek enquired as to HC jobs at Redskins an in New York when Jimmy G was traded from under him, no idea how much was in it.

There were all sorts of rumours when Garropolo was traded.
For sure Kraft overruled Belichick on trading Garoppolo and Belichick was very unhappy about it.
Also because it seemed Brady had gone behind Belichick's back to kraft to say he wouldn't sign an extension if G stayed.

So many ways this can go.
49ers may have rushed through the play-offs but had a good passing game in the regular season. Chiefs stopped a "one dimensional" Titans rush by swarming Henry. 49ers don't run the ball the same as the Titans - move about pace and opening running lines.
Chiefs have beaten (scored on) good defences already this season - Pats, Ravens,Bears, Vikings. Much tougher regular season schedule than the 49ers.
49ers struggled against mobile QBs.
Shanahan is a smart coach.
Then you've got Mahomes and that offense. Quickest thing 49erswould have seen this season.
So you've got 2 comparable Superbowls - innovative Eagles just too much offense for the Pats (a shoot out) or last year's when a top defence (Pats) smothereed the so-called offensive favourites.
Chiefs O line buy Mahomes sometime against that exceptional 49ers D line and pass rush and Chiefs take it. The explosive periods the Chiefs have had in the play-offs when they looked in trouble just has a bigger momentum feel than the 49ers ground game wins based on excellent defence - but the Packers & Vikings couldn't run the ball which was so important to their offenses. Maybe not so key to the Chiefs.
So I'd like to see flair over pragmatism and baack the Chiefs to take it by a score.

I just feel like this chiefs team has been longer in the making and when the offence is clicking can beat any D in the league

They will surely be hungrier too. 50 years since a Super Bowl appearance. I know it's been a while for the 49's too.

Chiefs have had a good team for.sone time now, while the 49's have had to turn everything around, so maybe just a little too early for them this time round.

Having said that though, I really can't call it. Will be rooting for the Chiefs, but no result or score would surprise me.

I love that a team can go from 2nd worst to Super Bowl in a year. NFL beats EPL all over.

Football is the sport because of the passion we have, the feeling in my stomach now before rovers. At the premier league level that passion doesn’t seem to be there.

It's where a draft system and a salary cap works.
Amazed year on year at the improvements of the quality of rookies joining the league and how strong college football is.
It's just ingrained in the sports culture. High school games get attendances that can reach 20000 and local TV coverage. College games crowds up to 110000.

cleared my calendar for tomorrow. Some American friends have booked a big screen at an American diner for the game so proper burgers, wings & all the other American junk food on tap. Looking forward to this.

One of the great superbowls.
49ers looked in control 2nd & 3rd quarters. That PI that let Chiefs back in was a dumb play.
Mahomes showed why he's a great already against probably one of the best defensive fronts ever. Not always about yardage - just getting the job done. Having been rattled just raised his game.
Was surprised the 49ers had only 141 yards rushing. Chiefs defence stepped up.
Pleased for Andy Reid.

No real interest in NFL so just watched back the half time show. Wasn't disappointed, particularly with Shakira...

Great game and comeback ! Watched it ‘live’ (not knowing result) this morning after recording it.

49ers were so close to seeing it out but that pass by Mahomes on 3rd and 15 (I think) in 4th quarter was the game changer !

I’m no American football expert but poor game management from 49ers (easy to say when it’s the biggest game of their lives though)

The final certainly delivered though !

Rivers to Indy?

they got it all set up for a run at the title apart from a QB.
