Just realised a win over Detroit would see a trip to Atlanta rather than Dallas. Possible chance to right the wrong from the same game four years ago, that late FG still burns.

yeah hopefully lions beat you

although atlanta offence away is nearly as scary as playing cowboys who not playoff tested

All the NFC teams have had moments of brilliance and utter hopelessness, it does look harder to call than most years.

Didn't deserve to win after being so very poor in the first half.

Had the Skins shown the same amount of spirit and drive in the first half that they did in the second they probably would have won.

Big question marks for me over Cousins, Hopkins, the kicker, Rob Kelley, who I feel is just a grind up the middle RB without flair and also of Gruden himself.

Some bad calls out there tonight.

Skins' defence just hasn't been good enough all year. Needs addressing.

Cousins is your future. He's had pretty good year. Need to tie him down to a contract. 7th best passer rating and 8th best completion percentage in the league. I wasn't convinced bit he's proven himself this year.

Can only see KC or Pats from AFC. Would have had Oakland up there prior to Carr's injury.

NFC is wide open. Only team I couldn't picture in the Superbowl is the Lions. All others have a legitimate chance. That said I think the Seahawks aren't the team they were the last few years.

Not so sure. The Washington Redskins aren't so sure either. Talk is they may let him go free agent and then try and offer him less money to stay rather than tie him down.

He seems to choke in the big games when the pressure is on. Poor time management and bad choices with his interceptions.

The other complaint (been following the Washington Post for their thoughts) is that he has been reluctant to run on occasions where there has been clear space ahead of him and easy first downs to be had.

I quite like him, but remain unconvinced that he has that SuperBowl factor and ability to win the big, big games.

Thing is, if it is not to be Cousins, then who else is there? Their back up is no great shakes.

The o-line is sadly as flaky as it's ever been, but Earl Thomas being out in particular makes the defence seem more vulnerable. Lockett's a big loss too.

I'm still expecting to beat Detroit, but I can't see much joy in Atlanta.

If they let him go to free agency I hope they have a good backup plan. Cousins will get paid, plenty of QB needy teams out there, only have to look at what an unproven Brock Osweiler was given. Cousins is much better.

Yeah, but the plan is to pick him up on free agency. That's one of the options.

Cousins is asking for a big, big wad of money. Washington may just try and let him become a free agent and then sign him back up for less. That's the talk anyway. It's not my thinking. This is what the Washington Post think the Skins might do. They just don't have total faith in the guy.

I do like him, but I can't ever see the Skins winning the Super Bowl with him as QB.

Hey, steady on there.

Agreed with the first part, but Brady is way out there at the mo because of his win history.

Rodgers still has a few years to catch him up though.

Fabre was definitely one the best.

As for the Skins, we've had ......Errm.......Ermm..... Errmmm.........

I see CBS Sports have the MVP for the season and the result was:

1. Matt Ryan

2. Tom Brady

3. Aaron Rodgers

4. Ezekiel Elliot

So, anyway,

Play-off predictions for wild card weekend.

Houston v Oakland Raiders

Pittsburgh v Miami

GB Packers v NY Giants

Seattle v Lions

I reckon Oakland will beat the Texans, despite missing Carr. Don't think they will progress past that mind. Raiders!

I think that Miami would have had a good chance against the Steelers, but not with Matt Moore at the helm. Pittsburgh!

Green Bay I think with homefield advantage will be too strong for NY. Get the pass protection for Rodgers and they should win. Packers!

Seattle should beat the Lions and I think this could be least close match of the four ties. Seahawks!

Packers will beat the Giants as long as they protect Rodgers well enough.

Dallas and Atlanta are beatable.

And so on to tonight. I still stand by my victories for Pittsburgh and Green Bay prediction.

Oakland last night really had no answer without Derrick Carr. The lad Cook was too raw and inexperienced to cope with the constant stunts and mix up plays of the Houston defence.

Looking forwards to tonight's match ups more than last night's. Think they will prove to be better games.

Oaklands play calling was pathetic.

Laterla passes and non stop run

When they let him throw because desperate he had some good drives.

Thing was though, Oakland were kind of forced into those plays due to the excellence of Houston's defence. Cook, the QB was given no time on the ball at all til late on in the game and was constantly pressurised.

Oakland were forced into running plays because they simply weren't getting any time on the ball as soon as the ball was snapped to pass it.

Houston eased off pressurising the QB as the game wore on as they were in a commanding position. You quite often get that, that the defence will allow soft yardage when in control, until the opposition get near the red zone.

The only thing Oakland could have done differently was for the QB to release the ball quicker from snap, but he was young and inexperienced and didn't have the guile to do so. He also seemed to lack any skills in movement himself to go on the odd little run. Very much stuck in the pocket.

i think even carr would have struggled with those plays, hard to get downs when you look for 2-3 yard gains at most.

anyway more importantly GB won! 1st quarter wa spoor and giants dominated,we were lucky beckham jnr had an off day. but damn AR changed it all. hail mary in 1st hald when most would have settled for a FG,what a man!

cowboys are favourites but with AR in team GB always have a chance.

also i gotta bring it up again but i got ridiculed for saying GB were wildcard team with best chance of winning superbowl.

since then

redskins out
bucs out
lions out
vikings out
saints out
eagles out

and considering seahawks wernt in wildcard contention when i mentioned it i think its fair to say i have been proven right regardless of how GB do next week.

more egg for your faces.

I didn't ridicule you and in fact I said the Packers would win against yhe Giants and you said they would lose.

I also said they have a very good chance against Dallas too.

No egg on my face at all.

Hi all,

I said GB would fail if they got a wildcard position, which they didn't, if they had to go on the road to Seattle as Detroit did I cant help but think it would have been a different story for AR this weekend.

As always being in a garbage division walked GB into a home tie against an out of sorts Giants team.

Credit where credits due though, AR was class last night, showed the league how to play against a very good Giants defence for 3 quarters of the game, he looked lost in the first quarter.

Next Sunday is looks to be one of the greatest divisional game days for many a year.

This weekend was somewhat a let down with home field advantage providing for some lob sided scoring.

I'm taking in italics

Seattle @ Falcons
Texans @ Patriots
Packers
@ Cowboys
Steelers @ Cheifs

Think Rodgers WILL go down as one of the all time greats.

He's still got about 4 seasons left in him too.

His movement of his feet yesterday was majestic.
