Could be another tough season ahead for the Redskins.

Maybe they will surprise everyone, but I think there is still work to be done in order to make us great again.

The thing is we were 6-1 (I think) last year just on the strength of the defence before injuries hit. I think Sweat, Allen, Payne, Ioannadis, Kerrigan is a strong a defensive front you'll find anywhere but it's on the other side of the ball we'll see problems. Doctson and Crowder gone, we need to hope our receiver corp manage to do things they've never done before. Hopefully Peterson doesn't deteriorate due to age and Guice can step up. The O-line looks a terrible mess without Trent, although being a LT traded for 2 1st round picks and a 2nd gives me hope we can get a similar ransom. I think it's smart to start with Keenum, particularly with the run of games we kick off with, and bring in Haskins slowly. I do like that Haskins has improved each pre season game and not made the same errors twice, it shows a level of maturity you'd want to see from a young QB. Once you give him the keys though that's it, he has to be ready as we can't bench him again. I do wonder though if we have a bad year and are completely out of it if Gruden gets the chop and we go into next years draft with a high pick the new HC might want to pick his own guy in a QB heavy draft a little like Arizona this year.

Pre-season means very little. It's mainly about seeing who the 2nd strings will be. Don't think the Rams played a starter all pre-season (same last year).

Even after week1 of college games looks like this year's top of the QB class could be ridiculously good. Okay few tough games but already some of the bigger names putting their hands up. There's 3 or 4 who are probably better than Jones and Haskins that could be available 1st round (depending on who declares). Scarily the 2021 class could be one of the best ever - absolutely packed

Yea, not an easy start for either side I reckon. Both should see the post season imo. Glad we binned Blair Walsh he was woeful for you guys recently wasn’t he?

Walsh had 3 great seasons then choked in a playoff game against Seahawks.
Went to pieces and got released.
Kickers becoming a nightmare for vikings. Cost us 3 games last season. Now they've blown a draft pick on a kicker they've released.

That playoff flub by Walsh was one of my favourite moments watching Seattle, ruined immeasurably by then signing him and having a season of him do the exact same thing.

Really not sure yet. I need to read up a bit more, but I don't think NE are going to be able to repeat their success.

Chiefs to win the Super Bowl maybe. Cowboys may be strong too though from the NFC.

I expect the Browns to make the playoffs.

As he was injured the whole year last year, goes Guice count as a choice for rookie of the year this time round?

Mahommes maybe for MVP.

I don't know which Cowboys are going to turn up though. Is Zeke holding out and if he signs is it going to be for crazy, roster restricting money. Same for Dak asking for $40m and Cooper due to be paid. They have to let one of them go and weaken their offence or have no hope of any decent players outside of those 3.

Champions - NFC team - suspect the Saints as hard as it is to say that.
SB runners up - AFC team Chiefs/Pats
MVP - Based in last year and the fact that rumours are he has improved further Mahomes.
OPY - Mahomes
DPY - Aaron Donald
ORY - Murray maybe?
DRY - Too difficult to predict right now I feel.
Surprising team - 9ers
Disappointing team - Browns anything but a Conference game appearance for that stacked squad should be a disappointment.

Was thinking about it and our record with 1st round wr picks is shocking. Williamson, Patterson, harvin, treadwell. So no expectations with Doctson

Don't think were going to be the most exciting team to watch this year, defence should fair well up front, still a few questions about our DB's for me. Long, drawn out, run heavy drives trying to give our defence as much breathing time as possible. Like the look of Guice/AP/Thompson in the backfield but we need to have some credible deep threats else teams will just fill the box and sell out on stopping our running game, worried plan B & C wont be up to it.

The bar is set low so at least Haskins will likely get half a pressure free season to settle in.

Really looking forward to tomorrow night, how do you think AR will go under LaFleur?

Big year for Trubisky I feel, drafted higher than Mahommes and D Watson a couple of years ago, if he can bring their offence up to the defences level. Intrigued to see how their new RB goes aswell, Montgommery, heard a lot of good things about him.

Everyone will have their eyes on the dynamics between the two tomorrow night, how do they react to each other when AR sees a mismatch he likes at the line of scrummage and changes the call.

i think you need to let AR be who he wants for the most part. only reason he hasnt won mroe superbowls is becausw eof defence not his own play. not like interceptions is an huge issue with him or anything up until last year or so

Reckon the NFC North will be a great watch this year, could easily provide 2 wildcard teams

Some big names there but thin on the edges. Can see some big wins but silly losses. Still like them for the playoffs and as Div champions.

Packers & Trubitsky got past the Bears then. I can see the Bears being in a lot of low scoring games with their defence and that QB play this year.

Packers defence was good. Much improved secondary.
Trubitsky struggled.
Key factor probably Packers tackles occasionally allowed Rodgers enough time to get plays off. Still got sacked 5 times though.
Still think it'll be an ugly tight division. Worried for Vikings if Zimmer thinks he can run the ball (his new offensive plan to compensate for Cousins) on these two defences.
