Pryor was drafted as a QB and moved to WR after a few years of very little action so he can throw the ball, we wont see him starting under centre for Washington.

The 2018 draft class looks littered with QB options Sam Darnold, Mason Rudolph, Baker Mayfield & Lamar Jackson all stand outs and expected to go early.

Unfortunately there are a lot of teams going to be in the market for a QB next year, Pittsburgh, Giants, Saints and the Chargers will all feel their QB is on his way out in the next couple of years, Jags seem to be out on Bortles and Miami will be in the market also.

There are two or three really nice RBs coming out aswell, I think we will eventually settle on cousins and pick up one of those, look for a WR or two in FA and maybe take a QB further down the draft.

Maybe we should just keep losing now this season in order to try and get a higher draft pick to nab a QB.

We do seriously need to sort out the QB situation. Found an article (albeit from 2015) which states that Washington have had 16 starting QB's in 16 years.

You look at the stability of other teams, Flacco, Roethlisberger, Eli Manning, Brady, Rivers, Russell Wilson, Rodgers, Brees. All except Rivers, Superbowl winners and all with longevity at their teams.

It all comes down to wether you believe Kirk is up to it or you want to put the effort in to go out and get a QB. If it was me I'd be trading like crazy like the Rams did last season to get one of the top picks then stick with the guy for a few years no matter what. Quarterback is the most important player on the pitch and we can't be umming and ahhing about if he's good enough, if he wa the debate wouldn't be there.

Goff is 23, Wentz 24. Those 2 top picks from last year mean the Rams and Eagles have no need to find a QB for a decade at least. Kirk is 29, will be 30 before next season starts, even if we do spend the big money on him we'll be looking again in a few years so we may as well go through the pain of developing someone now.

Just getting by with decent players each year, especially older ones on big money, is no way to build a Super Bowl winning team.

I don't think Cousins is a bad QB by a long chalk, but I do debate as to whether he is a true winner or not. For the most part he is steady and reliable, but I don't think he puts any fear into defences' hearts and minds and I am sure defences' would rather go up against a Cousins rather than a Wendtz, or Rodgers, or Newton, or Wilson.

I agree with you. If I weren't a Redskins fan I'd probably be asking what is wrong with us, some team would kill for a QB like Kirk (hi Browns) but when its your team you want them to develop into winners and I don't see us going too far with him. He would never drive the team on to win game single handedly like the ones you've mentioned.

I just think all those above players you can have sacked and yet they somehow slip through your fingers and make the pass. When Cousins is 'sacked' he stays sacked.

Thing with cousins tho if you gave him bell, beckham and brown would he knock up same numbers as the top QBs in the nfl and had a different coach

Maybe. I just like the mobility of all the others. Gives a team a whole new dimension.

There are plenty of teams that have had stability at the QB position and done nothing though, Cowboys (Romo), Detroit (Stafford), Colts (Luck), Cardinals (Palmer) the list goes on.

Then you have some average/good QB's that have SB rings or lost in the SB, Flacco, Ryan, Kaeprenick, Eli in recent years.

I think Cousins has showed enough to be in the category where he can do a job to the level of those mentioned above, put him in with Antonio Brown and Bell and I think he can do what Ben R does (I think we might see that next year now that SF have taken Jimmy G).

The question is do you want to spend all that money on a QB knowing that they need all the parts around them to make the team win, there are risks on both sides of the argument, pay Kirk but then struggle to find receivers and build a competitive defence = 5 years of mediocrity, pass on Kirk = possibility of years drafting busts from college

Unfortunately all the cards are now in Kirks hands as we wont franchise him next year.

A couple more losses and I think the situation has the possibility to turn nasty, can see us not playing him when our playoff hopes are finally out of sight.

Yeah, could be tricky. It just seems a never ending saga with Kirk Cousins and there never seems to be any clear stability over him staying on.

Yeah, they were defensively strong last season, but entirely four.

Watson brought a bit of trickery and mobility to the offence.

Broncos @ Eagles - I'm going Denver in this one, Eagles can't win forever plus Broncos owe us after losing to the Giants.
Rams @ Giants - I think this will be tighter than expected, still Rams to shade it.
Cheifs @ Cowboys - Cowboys now that Zeke's got his ban suspended again.
Redskins @ Seahawks - Seahawks are going to smash us, it makes it worse that the smug Australian git I work with is a hawks fan and will not shut up about it.

Just entering the thread for the first time this year, and agree with the Seahawks and Rams prediction, but cant see the Eagles slipping up as they are playing with such confidence especially Wentz, and think the Chiefs will beat the Cowboys. Cowboys are too hit and miss at the moment and Zeke is too unpredictable, I just think the Chiefs will have too much.

Obviously when I am completely wrong I will leave the thread with my tail between my legs, knowing my rational was completely flawed (shite)

All you've done there is pick the team with the best record to win in each game. This season is nothing if not outside of the box.

No all I have done isn't pick the team with the better record, I have gone off what I have seen this season and I just picked the teams which I think will win each game, record or not. Just because I don't post regularly doesn't mean I haven't seen the same games, players, results as you and all the others that post on the thread have this season, and from that I made my predictions, but then I wouldn't have thought the Jets would have beaten the Bills, so I could be wrong.

I think the Eagles will win because Wentz is on fire, and defensively the are playing well. Emerging as one of the dominant teams in the NFC, they are playing with confidence and don't think the Broncos will be able to match them

The Seahawks speaks for itself. Poor start to the season but finding form. Great defence as well, whilst the Redskins are poor, and offensively aren't performing.

The Rams Giant's game is the one I think will be tight but overall the Giants have been terrible, poor offence and defence. Yes they won last week, but they have been poor. If the Rams get their noses in front the crowd will turn on the giants again, and I can see the game getting away from them.

The Chiefs had a blip, and got back to winning ways last week. Dallas beat a poor Redskins. I like Dallas but just see overall a very mediocre team, and it just depends how Zeke plays. If he is up for it, could be a fine win for Dallas but if he isn't and is the embarrassment that he was several weeks ago, then can see the Chiefs getting and easy win. Again like the Rams Giants I think it will be tight but think the Chiefs offence will perform better than the Cowboys.

I too think the Bronco's could beat the Eagles. Although they have played well I also think that the Eagles have had luck in their side.

Would say the Seahawks Vs the Redskins is pretty much nailed on and would take the Rams to beat the Giants and Kansas to beat Dallas.

What the hell was AJ Green doing tonight? Ejected. Grabs the bloke in a neck hold, throws him to the ground and then starts punching him.

Sure, he was pushed, but way OTT a reaction to that.

177 yards and 3 TDs in one half for Wentz.

Someone needs to get right in his face.

His protection is very good and he does move well in the pocket, but I think teams need to all out blitz him more. Give him time and he just picks his spot and fires it in.

I feel like he'ill struggle once the playoffs come but he's still a very good shout for MVP at this stage.

They have changed their offensive coach haven't they? Sure I heard that they changed the coach and instead of him sticking to what was clearly working, he brought his own schemes in and they have failed to gel.

Have they met anyone good yet though? Redskins were poor against them and so too the Giants, who are poor anyway. Arizona, Miami and San Francisco were also poor.

Not wishing to take anything away from them, but would be interested to see them against more top sides. They did of course beat KC. Just don't think they have faced too many of the very top teams. Come the playoffs we will see how truly good they actually are.

Yeah Shanahan left to HC the 49ers, and we are missing his scheming. Sarkisian has come in with college ball plays which don’t seem to be working. However their overall attitude just seems to stink, they aren’t fighting for each other like last year. Once they lose momentum they just fall apart.

Yeah, does seem to be the case. They were made of sterner stuff last season.
