Purdy looked all over the shop which was very unlike him, however, heard a few people comment on how good the Packers defence is becoming recently….the problem he’ll have is the Ravens already have one of the best assuming they end up facing each other in the Super Bowl !

Maybe also a bit of post bye week rust. Exciting end to the season though

Love Mahomes, so am now rooting for the Chiefs, but I guess it would be nice for the Lions to win it for once.

Do think it may well be a 49's v Ravens final though, but don't ever discount KC because of the damage Patrick Mahomes can do.

He’s the man isn’t he. Quarterbacks on Netflix shows his hard work, dedication and determination as well as amazing talent. He’s cut a frustrated figure during a lot of the season but they all stepped up once again. Unbelievable. I also hope the chiefs beat the ravens but ravens have looked so good in the big games this season. Should be fun !

Ravens should smash all 3 of those teams the form they are in and probably ready for it now, it’s only whether Mahones can magic something but I think that defence will be on him too quick, even if he is scrambling

Chiefs problems are they've got ordinary receivers - can't separate and way too many drops. Their red zone offense struggles because once Kelce is doubleteamed options are limited. Run game decent. Defence probably the best they've had.

Agree with all that but against the Bills they suddenly started catching again and Kelce looked a lot better than he has this season. Be interesting to see if they can step up again against the Ravens…they’ll need to !

49ers were bloody lucky! 24-7 down then win 34-31. Unlucky for Detroit, who have never (?) made the Super Bowl.

threw it away with just a few errors but thats all it takes, also 49's just probably have those few better players, gutted for Campbell, he certainly has changed Detroit for the good and for long term, he will get criticised for 4th down decisions but has done that all year and they have converted so many, hindsight will hurt him as will the press with it.

That bounce off the helmet and falling into the 49's player will haunt for a while as well, could have been a pick

Said it before but Divisional championship is always the best day's football of the season.
49ers have to wake up - not sure they can give up an early lead to that Chiefs defense in SB.

They definitely cannot and the Chiefs defense looked good.

I can't lie, I've lost any interest I had in the Super Bowl this year with those two teams in it again, can't stand either of them. Wouldn't be surprised if they have a dedicated Taylor Swift cam being broadcast for it.

Agree with all of that. The drops cost them as much as the going for it on 4th. Fair play to Purdy, looked shaky first half and rode his luck with that near interception in the second but stepped up when it mattered

Happy with that, still gutted to be losing Pete, but at least we got the best possible hire.

I see Philly have hired Vic Fangio as Defensive Coordinator following their epic collapse at the end of the regular season and the wild-card game against the Ravens. I don't think Fangio's record was particularly impressive this season at Miami, and their defense allowed more than 400 yards to opposing offenses in four of their final six games and lost all four of those games. Eagles hired him as a defense consultant for the run-up to last year's SuperBowl, so Sirianni knows him pretty well (not that the defense performed particularly well in that game - no-one has ever scored 35 points and lost!).
Roll on next season!

PS Anyone know when the fixture list is published? We're in the States in September and would love to catch a game in either Vegas, LA, SF or Chicago!

Been meaning to share this podcast for ages (bit late as seasons almost over - apologies !). Also on YouTube

Always liked Chris Simms on PFT but for anyone who likes to listen to more detailed analysis/breakdowns of games etc, these are really good. He does initial ones on Sunday and then detailed on Wednesdays after rewatching games. Also usually a picks one with PFT on Thursdays

Mahomes!

Had to be didn't it. What a player he is. So calm, so cool, never panics, nerves of steel.

Hats off to him.

Pats type win. Outstanding defensive performance and your elite QB gets the job done somehow.
Both defenses were outstanding - DC play calling from both sides were masterclasses. What looked dull for 3 quarters was actually the result of incredible defense.
Key stat was probably the 3rd down conversion rate - 49ers were poor there.
Highlighted value of a mobile QB.
Mahomes cementing his place as an all-time great and he's still only 28 and in his 6th season as a starter.
Would argue the Chiefs best win after having had to go Buffalo and Baltimore to actually get to the Superbowl.

NFL already posted a Swift Superbowl highlights video. Seemed like even before they panned to the coaches winning reaction they'd gone to hers within seconds of the TD being scored. It's ridiculous.

Answer is to.just watch the sport itself. Simple really

I watched the game and only watched the game itself and nothing else, so missed the pre match nonsense, didn't watch any of the halftime show either and have no idea at all who Usher even is

I went to an NFL game at Wembley and watching the game itself is virtually impossible, they bombard your senses with all sorts of other shit during the game and I had no idea wtf was going on.
I understand this thread is for people who like NFL so I shall take my leave but for me it's a sport that sums up America. All bluster, no substance and complete shite.

Halftime show worst part of the Superbowl. Takes way too long. Must be tough for the players having that long a break mid game.

In the AFC championship when Kelce scored they cut to her reaction before even showing the first replay of it, absolutely nuts.

Yup, same.

What I have tended to do is to record games and then just fast forward through all the nonsense.

Makes it so much more enjoyable.

Either that, or pause the game and then you can be about 45 mins behind and fast forward through all the ads and showbiz stuff and just watch the game.

I love the sport. Can't be doing with the razzamataz.

Crazy isn't it.

And then I saw a Kelce interview somewhere and he said he had heard Taylor Swift's new album before it's release. The interviewer seemed shocked and surprised and was like "wow, really?"

Wouldn't it be totally logical and normal for a boyfriend to hear his girlfriend's songs before anybody else?

Sorry - just How did Mahomes get MVP?? I'm just watching the highlights and he was sacked 4 times in the 1st half, dreadful hospital ball to Pacheco then an INT at the start of the 3rd! Not my definition of an MVP!!

I'll get to that in a minute!! But the TD to take the lead in the 3rd was handed to him on a plate by that awful punt reception fumble!
