I'd welcome him, the FA regard him very highly.

I think realistically, it'll be Greg Abbott, cheap and cheerful, loves the club, got Carlisle punching above their weight and can work on a shoestring budget... Perfect for SiSU, and us fans tbh.

I'd love it if we got Tisdale, but considering he rejected Swansea...

Maybe Bobby Gould will do it for free

He will according to Linnell this afternoon. I think I'd cry if Gould came back. Take off the sky-blue glasses and he's pretty poor.

Mick McCarthy would be a good choice but he stated this morning on 'Goals on Sunday' that he wants a Premier League team.

Realistic options are:
Dennis Wise,
Paul Ince,
Martin Ling,
Nick Barmby,
Phil Brown,
Steve Cotterill,
Iain Dowie,
Roy Keane,
Alex McLeish,
Mark Robins,
Bryan Robson,
Glenn Roeder,

The majority of those are currently unemployed.

The majority of those have never or would never manage in League 1

Why Wise or Ince both of them have been terrible managers

That's why I said maybe. That's the market we're in. Good managers are rare but Wise and Ince both would be firm and the players would respect them and give their all. That's what I want to see - desire for 90 minutes or so, not for 45.

I gotta love how half the names mentioned aren't good enough for us.

We're 3rd Division now. Has anyone considered that we might not be good enough for them?

With the money issues we have, plus our record (rightly or wrongly) of firing the manager every 18 months, its amazing were not on the League Manager Association's blacklist.
