It appears that the Danish-American businessman who has just bought the Addicks had a little sniff around buying us and Hull. He said on Talksport earlier that he wanted to build something and that's why he didn't go for Hull as there were descending. He didn't say why he never went for us. He is renting the Valley and went for Charlton because they are in London. Talked a lot of sense . He must be a decent bloke he's in to Metallica.

Presumably he spent more than 10 seconds doing due diligence on us and ran a mile.

You’d have to be nuts to buy this basket case club.

And despite everything Robins and the team do us proud.

Bit harsh, mistakes have been made as we all know but I’d guess we are now better run than most clubs.

We've got an enormous debt, no assets beyond the players, and an owner who wants a ridiculous price for the business, that is estranged from its homebase, so actively reduces its income. What's not to love when wanting to buy a football club?

The deal was almost over the line, until Joy demanded a clause for a lifetime supply of hand bags.

Sandgaard reveals interest in Wigan, Sunderland and Coventry before buying Charlton

Thomas Sandgaard revealed how he came close to buying Wigan and also looked at Sunderland and Coventry before completing his takeover of Charlton. Sandgaard bought the League One club from East Str…
talksport.com

We are briefly mentioned alongside Wigan and Sunderland. Doesn’t sound like he even spoke to anyone just that our name cropped up among the list of clubs for sale. He went for a club based in London.

Charlton’s ground remains the property of Roland Duchatelet who so angered Charlton fans that they chose a match vs to join a protest against shit owners by throwing pig-shaped stress balls onto the pitch.

I suppose I've created an atmosphere where I'm an owner first and a football fan second. Probably an entertainer third
