One of my favourite sporting events of the year?

Can Rory finally do it?

Rory won't do it, I'd love to see it but he won't.

I'd like to see Bryson do well or Hatton.

Nope! If he gets within a sniff of the title, he will bottle it. Again! Not mentally strong enough.

Honestly who writes this stuff.

Not mentally strong enough , Rory ?!!!
6th golfer to win all the Majors after this week.
Joining fellow legends Nicklaus, Woods, Player, Sarazen & Hogan.

Don't want a LIV winner.
Playing waste of time golf , with no one watching , for sacks & sacks of cash.
Hatton , Westwood, Poulter & Garcia took the shillings & tarnished their careers.

He *hasn't* won all four majors (yet) and the last major he won was 11 years ago. He has been "there or thereabouts" in a number of majors since then, but hasn't converted any of them, some from what might be considered a strong position.

I'll be happy to have my mind changed when he pulls it out of the bag.

Agree, love The Masters.

Hope McIlroy doesnt win, can't stand him.

Would like Fleetwood to win but I'm having a bet on Min Woo Lee, think the course will suit him.

McIlroy blew his round. From being 4 under through 14, he had two double bogeys to finish level, and 7 shots behind Rose. Plenty of time yet.

I think this one's really a battle between you and the course. Rory can get to 10-12 under through three rounds. I don't see anyone posting more then 12 under tbh.

What about those poor caddies being dragged around the course unfairly so a few posh blokes can hit some balls? Until some of the golfers start dying on the course things won't change.

Statement held up quite well with his 6 under today. He needs two rounds of three under and the green jacket is his. 12 under needed to win this year

Successive rounds of 6 under cannot be sneezed at. I really hope he manages to beat his demons this time.

Curiously, I do wonder if a smaller lead is actually better for Rory. It'll force him to concentrate. I do worry what it'll do to him mentally if he doesn't win though.

I have been looking back at his "so nearly" occasions at Augusta. It really has not served him well. In 2011 he led by 3 going into the back nine on the final round. He ended up carding 8 over for that round, including a four-putt on 12th!! That probably eclipses all his other failures. Let's see what he does!

4 clear 8 to play, McIlroy will never have a better chance now.

He dug deep and found something to only card 1 over after a dreadful start. Credit to him. I hope it releases the pressure from him so that he can relax and enjoy his game more, hopefully winning more titles.
Only the sixth person to achieve the ultimate pinnacle in the history of a sport has to justify a knighthood, doesn't it?
What a round from Justin Rose, though. You gotta feel for him. And a true sporting gent, to boot!

What a tournament. That approach on the 17th from Mcilroy was just genius.

Could've done without the playoff though, was hoping for an early night before driving up to Hull later!

I knew 12 under would win it. When he got there with not many holes to play I was sure he'd done it. As ever with Rory, he has to do things the hard way. two shots inside 110 that were just the type of shots a novice would play. Glad he's done it now though, any other day I'd have been cheering Rose on during the playoff but Rory does deserve his recognition as a golfing great.

The one into the water, after playing safe and laying up, was a shocker. Gret mental strength to dust himself off (once again) and still claim victory

When he had the middle of the green to aim at knowing it would feed down to the hole. Unbelievable, but the pressure he would've been under is immense.

Pressure was immense. That approach to 18 that went in the bunker (after a good drive) was all nerves - not a difficult shot. It's just a great tournament. I still play off 10 but no way I'd break a 100 when it's set up as it is for the Masters.

Brilliant golf played last night by Rory and Justin. Proper tear in the eye stuff seeing him make the putt to win it.

Loved seeing DeChambeau implode too.
