A knife amnesty bin might be more appropriate, so that at least some good can come of it.

I know, but there were reports of people being 'tooled up', however my point was more of a general one about some good coming out of it. Certainly a better legacy than clapping a dead hooligan.

Whilst I agree with all of what you've said, I bet you still watched it? I did.

Perhaps also he might have considered how his family might feel before wading into away fans. At 56, 2 hours after the game and away from the ground with other known members of the 'Muckers' (alledgedly), I think his motives were fairly clear.

No idea about those who knocked him over as they might have been scumbags, but currently without all the facts I kind of have more sympathy for them and their family.

No I haven’t seen it and would refuse the opportunity if offered.

Fair play. I don't think it should have been posted, but you clearly have stronger will power than me and I couldn't resist having a peek.

The bloke might have gone looking for it, I don't know, but no one deserves to lose their life. People forget that to a lot of people, the idea of having a bit of argy at a game is harmless. This is the reality of it though, it isn't always shouting 'wanker' at the opposition fans, or throwing a few traffic cones (which a lot of us have been guilty of at some stage). People can end up getting really hurt.

Personally I think it's very tragic. Someone didn't come home at the end of the day. I just hope it serves as a bit of a wake up call.

Sorry but that's bollocks. It's not about coked up dickheads who want to prove they're Danny Dyer or old has beens who still think it's 1979. Most people go to the games for football, a few drinks and a bit of banter often with the opposition. No need for the 'argy' the throwing traffic cones and certainly not the fighting, especially as I repeat here in this case two hours after the game and away from the ground. This is NOTHING TO DO WITH FOOTBALL, but simply cunts being cunts.

I do hope we don't have a minutes silence for this. Seems there's one regularly and whilst nobody deserves not to come home from football he was moving forward and could've easily been the other way round. I've watched home and away for 30 odd years and never felt the need to smack someone about after the game. Hopefully will be a lesson you a few others.
Thing is, although it doesn't look good, until investigations are complete we don't actually know. A minute's silence can allow you to reflect on things, such as the idiocy of thumping another bloke because they support a different team. And regardless of if he had it coming or not, he'll have still left, in all probability, some family where it's not their fault he didn't come home, even if it did turn out he got what was coming to him.

There is of course the risk with how it's turning out a minute's silence isn't observed by opposing fans, and it just ratchets the tension up a bit, but the general principle that football shouldn't end up with a needless death is surely sound?

I was a bit worried that the tribute to him would be at our match there, but I see they play QPR first, so we won't now be painted as the bad guys if some of our fans ended disrespecting whatever kind of tribute they have in mind.

While I agree it's tragic and there will be people's lives affected forever by it through no fault of there own, I totally disagree that to a lot of people having a bit of argy is harmless.

If that's true then that 'lot of people' are utter fucking morons. Anyone with even a tiny brain can see that it isn't harmless at all. There will be people needing medical treatment using up NHS resources, police resources being used up to deal with the incident and in odd cases like this can have life changing consequences. It's just not worth doing.

If 'argy' is something that you want to partake in, I suggest that it's not really fooball you like. You're just looking for an excuse to be an anti-social dickhead.

I go to the game because I enjoy watching the football. Afterwards I come home or see people afterwards and we have a chat about it or whatever. I might be in a good mood cos we've won, or a bad one cos we've lost. But never once have I thought that getting involved in trouble would improve my mood.

My willpower is shocking, I smoke drink and carry to much timber.
It isn’t willpower that stop’s me wanting to see it, I just have no wish to watch a complete stranger having his life ended in such tragic and unnecessary circumstances.

A murder took place a few week back in Gt Yarmouth the next town up the coast from us 12 miles away, a young lad 19 y/o was walking down a town centre street at 4o/c in the afternoon, two guys were walking in the opposite direction toward him, as they were about to pass one of the two suddenly pulled out a large hunting knife and stabbed the lad straight through his heart, the two then jogged away laughing.
The poor lad was obviously loosing lots of blood but alone he managed to stagger 50 yards to an open gate falling over and picking himself up twice in the process, on reaching the gate he fell through it and died alone.

By 5.15 that same afternoon 4 separate individuals had uploaded their own video of the incident and it’s aftermath, so when he was panicking, struggling and dying alone, they were busy filming.
Fucking arseholes and the same goes for those sharing.

Yeah, have to say, I have never been interested in any sort of trouble and have never shouted anything at any away fans. Never ever seen the point of it.

I just go to games, watch the match and then go home. If we score I celebrate us scoring and totally ignore the away support and if they score, I just ignore that too and concentrate on the reaction of our own players and the bench.

I know it's a draw and a thrill for some, but just never has been for me, or ever entered my thinking.

On a side note, I’ve owned 20-25 Stone Island jackets/coats since the early 00s. It’s definitely gone down in my estimation with how common it’s become and available.

From what I’ve seen on away trips, very little of it is Stone Thailand but instead just the boring, standard pieces with teenagers freezing to death in overshirts/soft shell jackets that are fairly accessible in terms of price, (that they’ve pestered their parents to buy them for Christmas), when it’s only a few degrees, just because of the badge.

I’ve sold a lot of my collection and replaced it with Moncler which is far more subtle, smart and out of reach in terms of price of knobheads. I’ve kept all of the Ghost and Shadow Project pieces as they’re subtle and unreal in terms of quality for winter.

The quality and designs initially drew me to SI but these try hards make me not want to wear it anymore.

They still make some nice jackets but it was much better pre the explosion of internet shopping as the registered stockists would sell it and a few others (with the code on the label cut out). Last time I bought it was 2004. Autograph in Brum which was a flagship SI seller doesn't sell it anymore.

They have just replaced those who had a a bit of dosh having Sheepskins, then there were the Harrington jacket and the Crombie coats, remember the cheap ones from the market, as the recognisable hooligan uniform of the day.

Spot on pal. I bought my first SI from Autograph too, near the Mailbox IIRC. Made in Italy, fitted, shimmer finish. Think it was from the Paul Harvey collection. I bought a couple of Ice Jackets from there too and a Prada Sport early 00s number that sadly doesn’t fit me anymore. That’s when SI was a proper designer make, that wasn’t available everywhere and felt special.

Now you’ve got shitty Instagram sellers, cut certi and mass production of boring bog standard pieces.
