Really surprised by the almost unanimous negativity towards him.

I will quote tweet this once the season has got going and will put my neck on the line that he will be in the conversation for player of the season.

Absolutely willing and confident to bet against this.

It's not almost unanimously negative. Obviously some posters see only negatives about certain players.

And don't forget one of them doesn't rate James Maddison, Phil Foden or Mark Robins.

Count me blinded! I really like him. My only concern with him is his injury record.

The OP asks would you offer a new contract

I’d say fuck off. Would you offer him a new contract?

He's played 70.games in the last 2 seasons.
Not bad for an injury prone player.

I’ve said previous that I wouldn’t. The same applies for Bidwell and Allen too.

All of them are decent players, it’s obvious that we’re on a journey to completely revamp the team. If any player is not good enough to get us up to the Prem, or have to potential to get to that level, they’ll be phased out.

I like Kasey and think he's a valuable player to have in squad, technically he's very good....he grew up in the "concrete Catalonia" of south London which (remarkably) accounts for 14% of English born players in the premier league, and plenty more in the EFL.
It is a crucial season for him but fingers crossed he will benefit from the new coaching set up.

Started the game on Friday well looked busy and then as usual disappeared, tried a few flicks that once again didn't come off, got a silly booking getting too involved in the Saka skirmish wouldn't be sad to see him go...far far far better players out there

Completely agree, he keeps himself in the mind of some fans by trying a few things that don’t come off and running at players, which looks great but if it never leads to any quality chances then what’s the point really?

I used to really like Palmer and prefer him to Allen but now I think he’s proven himself to be not quite up to this level, same for Allen, yes he can patch up a gap at times but he’s not consistently convincing enough at this level for me. We need better on the bench if we’re to get promoted, players that can make a real impact when we’re struggling to break teams down.

It's been like that for a while , it's sort of the equivalent of an area of Paris that's produced so many French players.

He’ll inevitably end up being released next summer and joining a newly promoted or lower table Championship team.

Really boils down to this. He's entertaining, he can turn and beat 2 players, and play a fantastic pass into the forwards. Now I'm aware this won't always happen, but with the exception of Sakamoto we don't have another player that can do this in the squad. O'Hare couldn't do that.

I think we'll see a slight change in system with not as much emphasis on a 10 so he'll get less starts and be used predominantly from the bench. I'm sure he'll still have a big part to play and will contribute.

He was serviceable role player for us over the last 2 years while we transitioned from being bottom half of the champ to playoff contenders. I don't think he has the consistency to make the next step up with us to being a playoff/autos chasing team.

I like his forward play , can be creative….but , he gives the ball away too much and his temperament is a constant worry. Bench player for me if the likes of Mason-Clarke prove useful.

Would it be fair to say that Palmer and Rudoni are both fighting for the same place in the team? That could be interesting if so. I cant see a situation where they would both play but then Im not MR

I used to live in SW12 and SW17. Used to go to Selhurst Park and Plough Lane regularly. I know south west London well.
It stinks of piss.
