Not easy to replace Hamer . He's head and shoulders above everyone in this league. Robins and the staff improved him .
I'm more worried about the coaching staff. The defence has looked shabby since Lawrence went and Adi was a massive influence. Its showing

Things started to go wrong the minute Lawrence left, and got worse when Adi went.

Whichever way you want to look at it, improvements drastically need to be made. That was probably one of the poorest performances I've seen in some time, especially in the second half. There was zero tempo, a lack of cohesion between players, poor shape and very little creativity.

I think things can be improved as we have a good squad but there's a hell of a lot to work on.

We hardly won any 50-50 challenges in that 2 nd half

Look at it another way. We’ve lost no-one from midfield (certainly in the area being discussed) so we have exactly the same amount of depth we had before. It’s not even a conversation if Sheaf is fit.

Spot on GIMOC, glad to see people on here actually have a brain.

robins will end up getting sacked for some pathetic transfer dealings out of his hands.

I mean last year we could have had Liam Kelly to play the holding role and get some leadership into them.

Respect the club tried to fix but we are shocking for midfield depth atm and if our midfield only works when sheaf is fit we have problems.

Wright is the best left winger in the league, they moved him to the right hand side today because EMC couldn't cope. It's bizarre management. Our best players being sacrificed to accommodate this new lot. Mental.

I'd play Wright as a striker next to Simms, I'd play EMC on the left and Asante on the right.

I’m not buying this too many cooks synopsis.

I’m sure bigger clubs than us I.e Man City Utd etc etc, in fact probably all of the premier league clubs have more staff than we do. This isn’t Sunday league.

Wright was completely anonymous when he played up front today. If we play that front 4 with a midfield 2 we will get absolutely murdered.

I think what’s very clear is the coaching isn’t working. Whatever the reasons for that. We look as bad as we ever have tactically under Robins. No patterns of play, players static on the ball.

All these well paid performance specialists we’ve brought in need to be earning their wage because right now we’ve gone backwards off the pitch IMO.

Perhaps everyone should remember that Palmer, just like OHare, Hamer and Gyokeres didn't want to be at our club. They've moved on and so should we.

Back the team who are here now, it will get better and suddenly the bed wetters will love the ones they're slagging off.

Just doesn't seem like any plan to me. No cohesion, like the players haven't trained together. Was the same last year when we had to wait for them to 'gel'. Not even pressing as a team, felt for Bassette who tried to close down and nobody backed him up.

And we've just sold the guy who made those assists and not replaced him...... footballing suicide.

Torp, Allen and Eccles have been nowhere near good enough.

Collins, Tavares arnt good enough

Kai Andrews and Rapha not ready to compete

So that's a quarter of our squad not available or good enough to start

We're a team full of pansy's, soft as fuck every last one of them. Teams know they can bully us as we won't retaliate. There was a floated ball in the second half that the keeper just plucked out the air, it was crying out for someone to put there keeper into the back of the net. Just stuff like that, get the crowd going. Another game we went out with a whimper.

First half wasn't necessarily bad defensively, in fact it was OK, but in terms of attack I don't really see what we did well. I really wouldn't say it was much better than what was shown in the second half.

The crying need for a CM, while not necessarily unjustified, glosses over what the core issues actually are. And those issues clearly run a lot deeper.

The alternative was to sell Sheaf and gamble on replacing him. You'd have moaned if they sold him.

Or to get a better midfielder han Torp, Allen and Eccles that doesn't need Sheaf alongside them to hold their hand.

So we could actually cope in matches when/if Sheaf was unavailable

Worrying for me was the passive nature of all our players.

Norwich didn’t really threaten, came with a game plan to stifle, press our full backs, commit niggly fouls (and plain assaults) and time waste.

Fucking worked tho-and we sat back and let them do it. Rolled over got shagged from behind while they tickled our tummy.

Could have been different if Simms had connected from that flukey Bidwell pass in first 10 mins or the header.

Forced Norwich out.

But again worry for me was lack of intensity or urgency. Lack of creativity for our front players-no good blaming Simms if he’s given scraps-he can’t work with that! Simms came off and the front three had exactly the same service as Simms-nothing.

Robins had 5 coaches and they have the international break to sort this out.

We’ve played 3 teams with a plan to stifle us and our formation-and we haven’t had a plan B.

Fucking go to 3 centre backs and give the oppo something to think about!! You know the old saying-definition of madness is to continue down the same path but expect different results.

City have continued with this shitty formation/game plan and it HAS NOT WORKED.

Players are all over the place and look lost-that’s on Robins and his coaching staff.

Can’t blame the fans when there’s literally nothing to get worked up about in a game when we had two shots. (Not counting the blocked ones).

It’s been a tough start but we have the personal and the manager to get us going again.

I just hope we don’t carry on sleep walking to more defeats like today-very frustrating!

What really pissed me off today was when Doyle crunched Saka, and did his ankle. Took some nice handslaps from his fellow centre back as he resumed his position, with a big smile on his face.
Simms and Wright just calmly stood around watching, instead of strolling over and and telling the shit what he was gonna get.

Worries for me:
1) appears to be no overall strategy. How were we meant to play? Not sure the players knew what was expected of them. Are the coaches up to it. Certainly gone backwards since Lawrence and viveash gone.
2) when it wasn’t working we had no idea how to change it
3) 1-0 down at home and no urgency
4) a group of individuals rather than a team
5) too often we turn back instead of risk a forward ball. Not going to worry teams playing in front of them
6) mental strength not there
7) on todays evidence defence, midfield and forward line not good enough for anything other than mid table finish
8) is robins happy? Is the dressing room happy
