To be fair to Carr it’s a brand new system for him as well as the players. He’ll still be working out his place in all of it as well as the new drills and such

I think the idea that anyone on this forum knows how individual coaches should be working in a pre-match warmup in a Championship game is pretty silly.

More than just standing there with his hands in his pockets looking pretty disinterested. Maybe he should sit somewhere out of the way where people won’t question his point. From the outside looking in he looks another waste of space.

As silly as it sounds are we better to have a midding season this year to bring about the changes we would need in the summer.

If it’s all about the five years to get in the Prem doubt Doug would sit on his hands where as a charge up the table with low investment could give a false sense of how good we are?

Hmm... not convinced. I think if things carry on as they are season tickets will be down for 25/26. We are likely to have a bit of turn over in terms of players and if we want to attract the right sort of player we could maybe do with showing a bit of form between now and May?

Sorry, I find that quite difficult to believe.

Slagging off the team warmups is a new one - we just need to win some games as we’re clearly running out of things to target.

The team warm up looked organised he was as much use as a mannequin, Lampard should have cleared the whole lot of them out straight away.

Slagging off a coach for not being involved enough in a pre-match warmup is ridiculous man.

every player/team is different

you’re comparing apples and pears

todays modern footballer completely different to even 20 years ago

players can get managers sacked far too easily now (robins prime example)

same players can easily disrupt changing rooms

why do you think Lampard has the team staying together the night before home games now and getting them there at 11?
Because that’s the modern way.

Most championship teams now meet before and travel together. This isn’t unique to us.

West Brom insist their players stop at the hotel the night before home matches. It’s not because they are trying to fix a team morale issue.

Marginal gains, any of us can stand there with our hands in our pockets kicking the ball back to the players. Everything is wrong at the club on the playing side at the moment average players have been turned into bad ones pretty quickly.

What’s interesting is that we see managers get the sack but never the players really.

If you’ve got one really bad Apple we should see it more often in my opinion.

We have to pay off the manager so should be no different to paying off a player or just putting them up for a free transfer in the next window if it saves on compo cost.

Surely it’s easier to get rid of a player for free than it would be basically offering out your manager which would NEVER happen.

Players do get moved on regularly they are just not talked about as a bad apple otherwise no one would take them.

I still don’t get why you can’t just sack a player for being shit at their job like anyone else.

Mental that we had to keep the likes of Hilssner and Kastaneer knocking about. Or whatever Kitching has done that means he’s basically on gardening leave and could sit on £20k/wk for years if he wants.

Nice work if you can get it isn't it. Hilssner must have been grinning from ear to ear when he put his pen on that contract.

If you’re a coach during the warmup and you’re not moving around like this then don’t even bother showing up for work on Monday

Damn right!

Same with Da Silva, the thought of being stuck with him for 1 and a half or 2 and a half more seasons (whatever it is) is painful to think about. It holds us back improving that spot.

If Robins can get the chop then so should players like Da Silva

Everyone knows Wilson is not a first choice keeper yet Robins axed Dovin for him.

Collins came in when Carr was looking after the team when Wilson was injured and I believe Dovin had a minor injury.

Collins also of course was signed by Robins who clearly at the time rated him

You clearly cannot sack players and not pay the full amount of their contract up front

With the option of a long cross field pass to Tats once he is isn't closely marked because the opposition defence has been sucked in to our left.

But you have no idea what they do all week in training? It's weird how people become experts on this stuff based on a few minutes on matchday.

Often wondered this. I have family working in HR. Why can't we performance manage Managers/Players like in any other job and then dismiss them legally through poor performance without needing to pay them?

Why do you always read managers contracts need to be paid out in full when they are dismissed? (i.e. Potter & Ten Hag)

What is it that makes footballers different? because dismissal through performance is legal, and we'd only have to pay them statutory pay (a week or so) to do so?

Infact, noone has employment rights for circa 2 years, so legally why can we not just tell some of the team to do one? (Hillsner in years gone by for example)

Assume it's additional protection that's worded into contracts etc. But does all seem abit mad.

How on earth would you define performance?
