I think Wasps getting the ground was the wrong decision, but I'm not sure what you mean by "bad, if not worse than SISU".

Apart from them getting a ground at bargain basement prices, they've been pretty accommodating to CCFC, no? Whereas SISU have woefully under-invested and nearly asset-stripped the club, which culminated in moving them to Northampton and consistently lying about the stadium situation.

So no, I don't think they're as bad as SISU. I think the CCC were equally complicit.

Moving the club away from its home on a permanent basis is far worse than anything SISU have done.

Sorry, are you referring to Wasps being worse than SISU in general, or in relation to CCFC?

I'm not a Wasps fan. I have no allegiance to them and couldn't care less whether they go under or not. I've been to two games on free tickets and the only thing I can say that's good for them is the introduction of the Purity Ales in the Ricoh.

To absolve themselves of liability of intentionally not paying rent to create a distressed asset which they wanted to acquire, maybe?

Hmmm, the old 'distressed asset' line....

ACL wasn't exactly in a healthy position in 2007 barely breaking even, it was in a better position by 2012 after it hosted the Olympic football and posted a net profit of £1m.

Correct... The old 'distressed asset' line that SISU market themselves as and is referred to in independent sources describing their business activities.

It may well have been in a decent financial position after £1m in 2012, but it would have been in a significantly worse position afterwards, when it couldn't rely on Olympic football and when its main tenants were not paying rent.

It's genuinely like you see someone with a different view to you and instantly think that they're a PR account. Get a grip.

Here's some PR - I don't give two shits about Wasps. I hope they go under. I do care about CCFC. Maybe link this comment to my Wasps paymasters or to their fans so they can see PR in action? Or alternatively actually prove I'm PR rather than just saying I am because I'm saying something that you don't like?

Just like the fans forum - you hate any opinion which is against yours and then make accusations. Next, I'll be being called names like "Lee Meirs".

Yep, loved Higfeld Lanes, with my JSB season ticket in the East Stand. Now a season ticket holder in block 22 in the Ricoh

All well and good, but SISU never did want, or never want to, build a stadium.

They purchased CCFC on the very basis of strong-arming the council to purchase the stadium and the assets that go with it to sell on for profit. They are by very nature a distressed-asset hedge fund - only in this situation, they attempted to distress the asset by not paying rent for two years themselves.

Now they have no stadium, an investment gone sour with no ROI and no plans to throw any more money into the club - the recent signing are, in my opinion, as a result of the Maddison money / sell-on bonus.

Expect them to sell or attempt to liquidate the club after the final court hearing.
They have £30-£70m invested (depending on who you believe).

Whilst ever they can take annual payments out of the club for “management fees” they can leave their “investment” parked.

If the club is liquidated or sold cheaply, the balance will have to be written off. The Hedge Fund won’t allow this.

A club with a ground that produces revenue is worth far more than a club with no ground and no permanent home.

They can borrow the money to build a ground easily and create a new company. So long as the ground has a tenant that pays rent that covers the interest cost of the development cost the model works.

Part of me agrees, but if it is our current owners who built any new stadium, it would be part of a financial plan to leech any 'profits' to them with a break even model for the playing side (i.e. any profits would not go back into the team). All under the old 'CCFC still owe us' from the initial investment/exorbitant interest rates/management fees etc. We are like that bloke who borrowed £100 for a night out and ended up owing £19,000. Never going to get out of it, unless white knight/rapid promotion (whereby 3rd party becomes interested)/Wasps fold!!
This is where it gets frustrating, as what SISU say sometimes (often!) has kernels of truth in it. Does this mean SISU will build a ground? Nope. Does it mean SISU are altruistic? Nope. Does it mean that when SISU go, we should abandon all hope of a new ground just because SISU said it? Nope.

The thing is, it's not even about finance. To use that argument means SISU have won the terms of the argument.

It's about identity.

Thank you. An actual response.

My point is though, why would SISU invest more into the purchase of land and the construction of a stadium. I'm not even going to try to guess the total estimate cost, but it must be in the millions.

It just doesn't make sense, especially when their whole MO up to now appears to be the Ricoh with the constant legal disputes and court cases - this is why I believe that when the next one loses, they'll sell up as they have no hope in hell in recouperating their existing investment. The liquidation I'm hoping doesn't happen, and I don't think it will mean the end of CCFC, but they clearly don't care one jot about the club, city or fans.

The key word being 'educated', Nick.

The only assumption being made against me is that I'm a troll or a Wasps PR account which is absurd, especially as the only argument is I'm a new member and am saying something that people disagree with.

They didnt purchase half of it based on 'uncle Ray's' advice, which at the time was lauded by fans.

Sixfields was nowhere near as bad as moving a club from Wycombe to Coventry on a permanent basis.

On free tickets. With my old man. With my grandad. To enjoy a pint whilst standing past the stairs at the Ricoh.

You're literally assuming I'm a troll because I'm saying something you don't agree with, when it's literally anti-SISU. It's not like I'm saying SISU are the saviours of CCFC. I'm not saying we should move permanently to sixfields. What, exactly, is the problem apart from saying something that I have experience in for Christ sake?

So when you try to make out you have only been negative about them and you dislike them, going to two of their games doesn't really show that does it?

People are assuming things because you have just signed up and your post history seems quite heavy toward this subject. The same as every other time it's attempted.

It's nothing to do with "don't agree with". It's to do with the strange posting pattern, the next thing I guess is to go on about censorship and freedom of speech?

My first post and the reason I signed up was because I was frustrated after the Portsmouth game. The Fans Forum on facebook does my head in and, being a long time lurker of the forums I signed up - which is ironic as this is the exact same thing that happens on the Fans forum.

I've made no reference to Wasps until I was called a Wasps PR guru. I'm also not apologising for going to 2 Wasps games 2 years ago.

I didn't ask you to apologise or anything like that. Just pointed out that as you were trying so hard to show you disliked them, you had been to a couple of their games so obviously not that much.

So you are a long time lurker (again) who signs up and the majority of their posts are along the same thing?
