Has anyone ever gone a full season unbeaten at this level?

I know Arsenal did it in the Prem and before them Preston back in the day, but also top flight. I don't know of any in a 46 game EFl season, but stand to be corrected.

We're 7 in, I can't see any of the next 6 beating us (yeah I know, anything CAN happen in the Champ) and then with confidence / momentum and a certainly a decent run to finish the season if we get close.

You may laugh now and say no chance, but is is it impossible?

Certainly be quite a feat for us.

* Hoping I don't jinx it for Wednesday night :)

No it's never been done in a 46 game season

Reading hold the record I believe only lost twice in 05/06

Then Birmingham only lost three last season
Fuck Birmingham! We only lost 3 in our L1 season too (granted it never finished) and we did it on 10% their budget AND playing home games away from home! They dont deserves a single plaudit for buying last seasons promotion!

Records are there to be broken so it's said, and records are there to be set.

I really wish people didn't post stuff like this. It's almost inviting Karma to do it's worst.

Personally I think there is next to no chance of us going unbeaten for a whole season. The most dominant season I've seen us was in our League 1 season, but we still lost games even if they were blips compared to the season overall. Moreover, in an incessant 46 game season there will almost certainly be occasions where we are undone by injuries, suspensions, fatigue, poor referreing or plain bad luck, however well we might be playing on the whole.

God, this is what kept me away from here for so long, these utter jokers. Why doesn't some kick start 'we won't win another game and get relegated'.
Sometimes I really loath the football fan mentality. The supporter that decided to choose a 'big' team, hardly ever goes to a game, but feeds on the teams success as if it was their own success. If they looked in the mirror and saw themselves for who they really are and just lived life honestly and tried to make something of themselves I admire them, Instead they live their own uneventful life but think they are successful because of the team they follow.
Apologies, Rob, I'm not lambusting you, you just hit a spot.

Off the actual subject, but they drew a good few too... Would say the season when Man City & Liverpool went head to head was more impressive.
Arsenal going undefeated had an aura about it that won’t ever be matched unless a team repeats the feat

But I certainly think those Liverpool and City sides were better

For the record - I think Josè’s first Chelsea side in 04/05 that lost just 1 game conceding 15 goals is the best side in Premier League history

We need to aim high…but expect us to get a right tonking on Weds now we are starting to do just that. As the old saying goes… The dildo of karma rarely arrives lubed.

Why do people struggle with other people fantasising about what they would absolutely love to see their team do ?

Yes we know weve played 7 games , yes we know the chances are almost nil , and yes we know that we are ridiculous for thinking about stuff like this

42 wins 4 draws i reckon Rob

Well we were told that Blues team was going to piss the league, piss the Prem then piss the Champions League so if we can 3-0 those absolute world beaters I suppose anything is possible.
I'd allow for 1 defeat but any more and it's probably Lampard out for me. No excuses.
