Not taking anything away from a great result, but "The great escape"?

If Yeovil were to survive, that would fall into that category.

Those ones were great. Vague memories of the Norwich season, remember better the three wins in a row, took proper interest the season after (needed to win 2 of the last 3).

They were heroes as much as the cup winners.

The only one in the top flight I was alive for and can barely remember was the 2-1 at Spurs in 1997. Dad was cracking open a champagne bottle and I had no idea why because we had finished 17th and that was 'well rubbish'. The opposite scenario at Everton (1999?) where Andy Gray said 'If Cuvun'ree score now it's all over' had me so bemused at the idea that another team's survival was in our hands.

The way we turn defence into attack is the biggest difference .

And it also stops our opponents going on full attack because they know we are now looking at going forward even when winning. Which is what many of us have been asking for since last year.

I wouldn't jump up and down with jubilation just yet. Yes a much needed win with some positives. However there will be a few set backs yet and it would not surprise me if it doesn't go down to the last game.

however it does seem as if some of TMs ideas are starting to filter through.

Coasting 2-0 against 10 men and didn't win v 3-1 up against 11 men and did win. SP set us up defensively Mowbray didn't. Have you not noticed the difference now SP has gone? Are you saying they were wrong to get rid of him?

Don't know about you mate, but it's been gnawing at the back of my mind for ages, SP said he had some unfinished business withh CCFC. I was wondering if it was to take us down again, after we kicked him out of HR?...... just a thought

There is no doubt that in many circumstances the best form of defense is attack. Something that SP never caught on to.

Older fans would also recall when, back in the 70s, on the last day of the season one out of City, Bristol C. and Sunderland was for the drop and City played Bristol at HR with Sunderland playing I can`t remember who. The HR game was put back 15 mins and with the score at 2-2 news came through that Sunderland had lost and if the score stayed as it was City and Bristol were safe. The news got through to the players and peace broke out with both teams just tapping the ball around in the middle of the pitch until the ref brought proceedings to a close.

Yep, I was there. And Sunderland fans are still mightily pissed off about it to this day!
