Assuming our friends SISU have departed by the start of next season and we have new owners, I think we should just have a total clear out for next season in order to end the defeatism which as afflicted the club for too long. I'm not sure there is really anyone worth retaining. All of the quality players will be gone (Clingan, Juke, Cranie, Keogh et al) and we will be just left with the dross. I'm even not sure the kids are that good. I'm not convinced Thomas or Gael will be especially good in League One. I would retain Christie if we can and perhaps Wood and Dunn. Otherwise I think the best approach is to put the entire rest of the squad up for sale and we should bring in an entirely new squad of players who are not tainted by the dreadful season of 2011/12. We must bounce back immediately next season (one of the main reasons we are in this mess is that we didn't bounce back when we got relegated from the Premiership) and the suffering of this season will leave a scar for many years. The only way to lance the boil is an entirely new line up, new owners and a new manager. Everything must change!
I would keep all the kids and invest in a couple of decent centre halfs to support Wood (assuming he stays) Craine and Keogh will go, Cameron not and McPake no where near good enough. Also a couple of decent midfielders and attackers and we should be fine!
We will be very lucky to bounce back look at the likes of sheff weds, don't know what there attendances are but assume their bigger than ours, I can see us being their for a long time, this is Coventry we don't do promotion pushes.
Hope I am wrong and we miraculously turn our season around, just don't want to think about league 1 football, it's just a very sad time in our clubs history.
like the idea but i would keep:
bigi,thomas,hussey,cameron,christie as our future
murphy ,mcpake, sheff's, platt one more season cody probs worth a few games. as a base
baker been looking better now, bell never been able to get his form back from last season.
get rid of rod even though he's proven there.
juke clingan will be gone
i think we will have craine and keogh
deegs is just being ignored so i excpect him to go
eastwood will go.
jeffers and wilson will be either sold or loaned
I'm not sure the current squad would be ok in League One. Not so much because they are all bad footballers (some of them undoubtedly are, others aren't) but more because their confidence will be shot to pieces after this annus horabilis for CCFC. We are currently looking like we will be relegated by February and win only about 30 points. I can't recall the last team who went down from the Championship with so few points - possible Stockport and look where they are now. This current team (with the exception of Juke,Keogh,Wood and Cranie) are an embarassment and a disgrace to the shirt. This isn't just a relegation, it is a surrender. Would we honestly miss any of the current squad with the exception of those mentioned above? I appreciate that the likes of Conor Thomas was scouted by Liverpool and is a Cov kid but he hasn't exactly set the world on fire this season. I appreciate he's still a teenager but quite a few promising Coventry teenagers have ended their playing days at Nuneaton Borough and the like. Hopefully he will do much better than that but I'm not convinced. Same with Gael also. I'd also say that the likes of Bell, McSheffrey and Baker will struggle to grace League One.
Hussey, Thomas and Christie are three very good players - improving all the time.
Thorn deserves credit for this as playing them when more senior pros have gone missing cannot be easy or ideal.....however, they continue to develop.
Remarkable really.

Jimmy Hill's Chin Quoted,
"are an embarassment and a disgrace to the shirt"
How so spot on you are, strong words,it actually means something for people to say that!
When i think of past Coventry City players from not so long ago,Kilcline,Downs,Konjic,Mcgrath, to name but a few who were not the best footballers in the world but would wear the badge with pride.
There are maybe a couple of players I would say give their all for the badge now,and that is Keogh and possibly Juke!
I would regularly leave Highfield Road in despair but would always think the team would bounce back because that's what Coventry City did.
Not so sure now!
