Ernie was a regular at an off licence I worked at.

What I do miss about Highfield Road was watching the old pylon type floodlights come on . Each lightbulb came on individually and it took a few minutes before all four corners of the ground were lit. Some bulbs didn't work and most that did came on a kind of bluey purple before they warmed up . Great to watch, particularly when the game was rubbish.
