Let's face it, a lot of it is because when we got promoted in lockdown we were all locked in and he danced with a wig on.

He had a bit of a purple patch where he scored a few goals but was massively overrated because of the wig, sunglasses and going on stage with Tom Grennan.

There was quite obviously more to it than that, but it shouldn't be a surprise to you that fans like it when players show a bit of personality and enthusiasm for the team.

Not really, O’hare is a team player rather than a talisman. No surprise his team are flying.

Rudoni has been apart of some real poor teams and been involved in a couple of relegation battles already. It’s great that his numbers are good but incredibly naive to imagine O’hare isn’t offering a hell of a lot to the team that have won the joint most points in the league.

And rather naive to think we would be on our run without all the goals and assists we have got with Rudoni.

Quick question. How many players have got more assists than Rudoni? Happy to go with the Prem, Championship, League 1 and League 2. Yes O'Hare always created havoc. But Rudoni has an end product. On top of this Rudoni has twice the amount of goals as O'Hare.

Fantastic header from the overrated O’hare. One touch and creates a goal

It’s doubtful that O’Hare will get anything close to double figures in assists, as Rudoni has. Goals-wise also, discounting the former’s purple patch last season.

They’re different types of player, but Rudoni has improved under FL, and long may it continue.

It was a fantastic cross and a lovely flick. Wish Meslier had played like this against us.

We will now see how important and good Rudoni is for those who still don't see it. Before he went off yesterday Oxford were hardly a threat.

The good thing is Wright is back. When up to speed we will have a proper goal threat up front in the side again.

Thought COH was a great player for us, just the way he left that left a bitter taste. Rudi has a more consistent style,COH played great in bursts. Rudi is in the game much more.

For me Rudi is an overall upgrade

O’hare is having a fantastic season for the joint best team in the league as of now. Was a great move for him.

Rudoni is having a great season for a team just outside the play offs. Everyone’s happy.

Bollocks. A good proportion of their fan base are seriously questioning COH and his lack of consistency.

In the last 21 games (nearly half a season) he has 2 goals and 3 assists... i'd argue that's nowhere near "fantastic"

Rudoni has the above in his last 5 games

I'll agree its a great move for him though, nice big payday, be interesting to see if he gets many minutes in the Prem...

And plenty of the fan base have little confidence in Wilder.

Spoiler alert: he won’t.

Sheffield Utd will need better players if they get promoted to the Prem. Which, hopefully they don’t because we beat them in the playoffs…

It was telling that as a free agent, COH didn’t get a big offer from a Prem team that he probably expected and frankly, I’m glad we didn’t break the wage structure to re-sign COH if it was ever a viable option. Rudoni is a more rounded player in this league and probably the more likely of the two to make the step up to the Premiership.

Everyone happy.COH got his pay day ( Sheffield Utd were daft enough to pay him that much) and we got Rudoni. I would say that's a significant upgrade.

I was a big O'Hare fan and thought he offered so much more than just an attacking outlet. His ability off the ball was a huge help.

But it's clear that Rudoni's ceiling is so much higher than O'Hare's was when he was 23. Like you said his game is so much more well-rounded and he's got more attributes which PL clubs will look at in a midfielder.

Not sure what his current fitness situation is, presumably he'll be out for a few weeks at best, but if he was to remain available for the remainder of the season he'd be on course for around 20 G/A over the full campaign. Which are great numbers from a midfielder really.

Let's face it when COH joined us we had hardly a sniff of quality for a long time. We had mainly been signing no hopers.

COH was a decent prospect, but fans over egged him and bigged him up and I under stand why. But w e have had a long list of far better midfield players at the club, and who have played in top flight.

Sorry but he was average in the grand scheme of things. Lots of energy, lots of tricks, that normally led to nothing.

The difference between the 2 players are fairly simple.
O'Hare :

Pros: lower centre of gravity, finds pockets of space easily, his link up play is one of the best in the division.
Cons: Physically weak, zero defensive output, heading, no end product, often goes missing against teams with rigid systems, goalscoring and assists.

Rudoni:
Pros: Heading, Physicality, Workrate, Finishing, Assists, Passing, Vision, Versatility,

Cons: pretty much most of O'Hares strengths

For me it's not even close now, Rudoni is the better player, and by a distance.

If O'Hare managed 10 goal and 10 assists on a regular basis, season after season then O'Hare would be the better player, but O'Hare offers a style that defenders struggle with, but doesn't chip in with goals and assists. Rudoni can play pretty much anywhere in midfield, out wide and will score all types of goals and assists with goals. Set pieces Rudoni is top draw also.

I owe an apology to Austin tbf.

Whilst I do think Rudoni is the better overall player, I often feel O'Hare is misunderstood and unfairly judged on goals and assists. Other than that spell he had last season, he's never been a goalscorer. He was actually one of our most important defensive players, especially before his injury when he was a tad nippier, in terms of his closing down, drawing out 2 defenders at a time, winning fouls and taking the pressure off.

We had to switch to 5 at the back when he got injured as we started shipping goals due to our lack of ability to keep the ball down the other end and link play. Goals and assists were never what made him so valuable to the way we played before he got injured.
