Can you imagine if it turned out SISU had done what their owners have done?

Current owner speaking to other rugby clubs miles away about merging and moving Wasps before he'd even purchased them.
Continually lying to the fans saying they'd be staying in Wycombe / moving back to London.
Claiming a new stadium being built a mile way from their traditional home wasn't an option as it couldn't be used for rugby only for another rugby club to move in.
Presenting a move miles away as a done deal with no fan consultation half way through a season.
Immediately saddling the club with huge debts in order to pay the owner back.
Failing to build a promised state of the art training facility.
Claiming the move would make them the richest club in Europe but losing millions while sliding down the league.
Having the auditors call you out for supplying false information.
Admitting its a property development company and the rugby club just happens to come with it.

There would be absolute uproar if it was SISU but they just sit back and take it all because they've been fed a PR line that the owner cares deeply for the club.

Obviously I would need free tickets and flags and I expect fireworks after the game otherwise I have a fence that needs painting

Yeah but they have council PR teams and local media backing them

I don't think CCFC contribute that much to the coffers profit wise. That said though, where do they find at relatively short notice 25+ events a year with 10k visitors?

What obligations are in the Wasps' agreements with the new catering company? Surely they'd have an expectation of footfall?

I know about a dozen people who are season ticket holders at Wasps, none of them followed CCFC or Cov, but seem to love watching Wasps.
None of them understand the stadium situation, or care about that or the politics behind moving a team 100 miles, or that CCFC might not have a home soon.

I don't know how representative that might be, but that's some of what we're up against

No deal this is a punishment-except if you bought an £8 pie and pint. One is warm and one is cold but you won’t know which until after purchase

Great post.

What I don’t get and would love to understand how the Coventry telegraph hasn’t took Wasps to task like they have with SISU. Ok so if Wasps name changed to Coventry wasps and they continued to run there business into the ground like wasps are there would be blood spilt over it all so why aren’t Wasps? Are we sure that the local paper isn’t getting free tickets etc as a sweetener? Surly not....

How much advertising do they buy I assume we don’t bother as we are not on the best of terms with the local rag

250,000 football fans through the gates a season.

Average of one purchase per fan (a beer, parking, food etc).

That's a huge amount to lose. Boddy is right way he says we contribute about £2m a year.
Imagine if we were to get promoted, it would double.

Wasps and the council won't realise how much the club contributes till it's gone.

It's not just what fans pay at the Ricoh, to park in A, B & C or in the casino. It's the money fans from CCFC and the away teams spend in pubs and other local businesses. CCC seem to have never seen the financial benefit to the local economy from CCFC.
