The Ireland problem is control of the border with the EU. Nothing to do with trade agreements. We have to honour the GFA. It is a treaty registered with the UN. The framework of free trade, no border controls was provided by the EU. If we leave the EU, we automatically lose the framework. The EU, Ireland, Northern Ireland and ultimately in a dispute, the UN, will want to know how the UK proposes to honour the agreement. Without knowing what the UK proposes on this very important point, there is no point negotiating any deal.

Would like to know what your proposals would be, and btw, are you in favour of a Müeller style enquiry into the dodgy referendum? The EU had two for the relatively „minor“ appointment of Selmayr.

Have you read the details of the Belfast Agreement?

It also has nothing to do with the Belfast agreement

The most important points. And I was dealing with NI ( UK government ) and ROI agencies at the time. Who were both celebrating. The DUP has about 28% support for it’s stance, 72% are not for it. On the island of Ireland it has minimal support. It doesn’t represent the vast majority on the mainland. The tail is wagging the dog. And what has that got to do with a FTA that we are not going to get anyway?

Well you haven’t read it very well as if in the end a pre 98 border is implemented this is not actually in breach of the agreement

The cross border initiatives have everything to do with the GFA, as do the open borders. Either we honour our agreement or it’s no deal.

Why did they scrap border controls and dismantle watch towers etc?

They scrapped them because of the consequence of the agreement and it’s implications. Many routes had free access anyway.

Of course you will.

But you know I am right. If there is a free trade agreement what problems will be left with the Irish border?

Yet we are supposed to sort out Ireland without knowing about any trade agreement and we are not allowed to talk about a trade deal until the Irish problem is solved.

If you know the answer to the problem, then send it to May, BoJo and RM. back to pre GFA borders and we can get on with the FTA. You’re wasted on here.

How about getting back to you saying that I am wrong about Juncker being the only one able to remove Selmayr and you saying that he didn't say he would resign if forced to remove Selmayr?

I suppose the YouTube video is a fake. They must have faked both Juncker and Tusk.

But as usual you will ignore this or twist the truth.

How can we solve it when those crooks running the EU won't allow us to solve anything?

I am not bothered. You posted a report that he denied it. Whatever. He is going. Selmayr has the job. Juncker will not sack him. The EU cannot do anything as it is not illegal. Let’s see how he does.

Back to more relevant things. What a Müller stable investigation into the dodgy referendum?

Of course I am.

You answer the question then.

Would the problem with Ireland be much easier if we knew what the trade deal is?

And you agreed with the lie Mart said about Juncker saying he didn't threaten to resign if forced to remove Selmayr after wrongly giving him the position. Do you think it makes you look clever when he is wrong,

You’re insane. I am not fxxking bothered. I have told you my opinion 50 times. Scam sham annoying. I have nothing more to say on the subject. The dodgy referendum is a biggers scandal.

Of course whatever.

You go off on one. Your little crew agree with you and continue to have a go at me. I can prove you all wrong.

Then you say whatever after being proved wrong yet again.

Then you continue with the line that it wasn't illegal. There is no law covering the way those at the top of the EU give promotions to those who shouldn't get them. That is covered by rules and regulations.

But carry on. Everyone can see that you will say anything to cover up for a corrupt organisation known as the EU.

And the EU does everything to the letter?

You can't make that out to be the truth. They are too blatant. And you want the UK to be ruled by them.

Your last point is a complete fabrication, I've never really commented on Selmayr.

You'd have to be insane to agree a trade deal and then find a solution, it would be massively irresponsible and put the GFA at risk.

What's more likely is the UK making a concession to remain in the Customs Union before a solution can be found.

Mart posted Juncker didn't threaten to quit if he was forced to get rid of Selmayr after giving him the post he shouldn't have got. You 'liked' his post. Why did you 'like his post if you didn't agree with it?

Next excuse ready SB?

Now explain why it would be insane to agree to a trade agreement which would solve most of the Ireland problems before trying to solve the Ireland problems.

If the trade agreement meant the UK remaining in the single market and customs union and agreeing to retain EU standards, you'd have a point. But the government has repeatedly said they would go against its red flags.

What are you on about? There are scandals in every organisation in the world. I would be surprised if there weren’t any in the EU. But you think that only the EU has scandals. You are, at best naive.

Did they bollocks. Many border towns also had a second checkpoint. One at the border and a second before the next town.

The only free access was over open countryside and even that was patrolled to stop cross border smuggling. Smuggling of goods mainly for the black market.
