Fallon has resigned because he knows he has done wrong.

The EU moves at a snail pace when they want and as quick as lightning when they want.

They call what Luxembourg have done when Juncker was in charge fraud. Yet you are happy for him to carry on in his position.

On radio this morning he was asked to resign unless he could guarantee there would be no more stories.
But it is clear attitudes have changed and what was tolerated and easily brushed aside 20 years ago could be a resignation matter these days.

He touched a womans knee. She has said that she wasn't offended bu it. That is all we know....so far. He resigned from a post he held for many years.

Juncker was in charge and had been in charge for years when the tax dodge....called fraud by the EU.....was started. It involves many billions. Yet you defend him.

Says it all to me.

Including you and those who can't get over the result and are looking for someone and something to blame. The same people who only want to look at lies from one side.

Ask Mart. And you will have seen it yourself.

I want Cameron looked into. If he was still in charge I would want him to resign.

Fraud is fraud. Breaking the law is breaking the law.

Politicians should not have the right to get away with prosecutions if guilty of anything.

Correct.

So now you see where I am coming from?

No you don't.

Let me explain.

Juncker helped set up the tax dodge in Luxembourg. They ended up with many more companies registered in Luxembourg than they have residents. These companies...including many multinational companies.....are registered in Luxembourg. They pay a minimal amount of tax to Luxembourg which covers them for their whole tax bill for their liabilities to countries all the way through the EU. This includes the UK. The UK has lost many billions alone from this scam.

So yes I am outraged that it was allowed to happen. It is a joke that he was allowed to stand for one of the top jobs in the EU. The UK didn't want him to get the position. But as usual we had no say. I am eager to get this sorted out.

But what faith can we have in the investigation into how it was set up when the person who was in charge of Luxembourg for 19 years still has a top job in the organisation that is looking into what even they call fraud?

You kept saying that we should chase up all fraud that is costing the UK billions. But once Luxembourg and Juncker were named you are not after chasing up fraud that has cost the UK billions but instead are looking for excuses for him.

Then you try to say that I am biased :banghead:

European nurses and midwives leaving UK in droves since Brexit vote

Yet more good news.

No doubt it'll be dismissed as left wing propaganda by those who have also sourced the Guardian recently.

Do they mention the GBP/EUR exchange rate?

Nov 2015: Come to UK and every £100 you earn you send 142 euros back home.
Nov 2017: Come to UK and every £100 you earn you send 112 euros back home.

Money talks.

Don't you get the drift of this thread? It is either the fault of Brexit or it isn't a problem.

Doctors and nurses are leaving because they are overworked and underpaid. Why haven't they quoted that part?

Overall, the number of nurses leaving the NMC's register is higher than the number joining, the statistics show.

The regulator has said the introduction of tougher language tests may also have influenced the trends.

The figures show 1,107 new nurses joined the register from other EU countries in the 12 months ending this September.

This compares with 10,178 the year before.

Meanwhile the number of UK graduates leaving the profession has increased by nine percent.

Jackie Smith, NMC chief executive said the trends were "worrying", with numbers of UK and EU registrants both dropping.

She said the NHS had "major challenges" recruiting and retaining staff.

Saffron Cordery, from NHS Providers, said: “We need urgent steps to help ease intolerable workplace pressures. There should be clarity on what the end of the pay cap means. And the government should confirm the right to remain for EU staff working in the NHS.”

I don’t know why people are panicking about the NHS for. After all we’ll be spending an extra £350M a day on it soon and once again we’ll have a health system the envy of the world. Yay brexit.

I keep asking what Juncker has done which is illegal and if there is proof enough to prosecute. Fallon has admitted he did something wrong and resigned. Juncker says he has done nothing illegal. So from his point of view what should he resign.

I doubt whether Fallon resigned just about touching a Knie.

He found a legal loophole which is bad.

He was voted in by the European council by 26 to 2. we had the same say as everyone else. Or do you think our vote is worth 26 of everyone else’s?

So the EU are wrong when calling it fraud?

He was in charge of Luxembourg. At best he knew what was going on. Of course he won't admit guilt. That doesn't make him innocent at all.

The stories I have to listen to most weeks about the NHS are very concerning, especially working 13 hour shifts with no break and having only 2 midwives working a shift in a major city due to shortages. The pay in Italy is not far off now considering the exchange rate, oh and the shifts are only 8 hours.

You know best though, I suppose.

If it was legal why do the EU call it fraud?

Just like all these football players and celebrities that got talked into so called legal loopholes. They are now getting hit with massive tax bills. Those who set them up are getting prosecuted.

From what I understand it is due to shortages. The last hospital she worked in along the coast was even worse. Don't want to post stories about it on here though.

The truth is most of these EU “presidents” make even the likes of Johnson and Farage look like gaurdians of integrity. Tusk is despised in Poland for his disgraceful treatment of the pension funds and the mysterious incident of the plane crash, junker has been embroiled in expense scandals and mired in feathering Luxembourg’s financial nest. His predecessor appointment to Goldman Sachs allegedly broke Eu laws. They are so mired in corruption and dodgy deals all they do is cover each other’s backs.
