I’ll say it again though Fernando, it depends why you voted and how it plays out. Purely trade, you might be right, was it all worth it. I’ve got to be honest as well, I didn’t expect it all to take 4.5 years, I doubt many/any did !!!

I’m guessing on divergences of key standards there would be the same type of clauses in most free trade agreements ?

Ps deal not done yet either, let’s hope we’ve not all spoken too soon !

Still don’t get how a vote to leave a trading deal can be about anything other than trade. Four years on and still don’t even know why we’re doing this, seems to change with the wind. It was all about immigration, then nothing to do with immigration all about trade, then nothing to do with trade all about “sovereignty”. No doubt once they’ve worked out what they’ve actually agreed to with this deal it’ll all be about whatever win they can find there.

So tired. We’ll be back in within 20 years. This all seems so depressingly pointless.

That's a bit rich.

This thread for the last 4 years has made it feel very much the opposite.

We’re definitely all on the same team. It’s just you shot all your team mates in the foot.

I doubt that very much. If the reports are accurate this is a fairly significant shift from the deal May proposed.

The devil as always will be in the detail. Let’s see how much it pisses Farage off in the first instance.

Would anybody really be surprised if it is essentially the same deal? Afterall the withdrawal agreement was. Ironically if he and the ERG had have backed May we would already have been out for coming up to two years now. All the postering has done has kept us in longer and exacerbated the issue.

Unless you’re planning to move country we are on the same team. My kids will grow up with the same economy and life chances as yours. I happen to think that you’re supporting a strategy which will make us poorer and limit her options in life, the entire reason I care is because we’re on the same team. If you were American I’d give far less of a shit. I think Trumpers are morons too, but in a detached laugh at them kinda way, not in a visceral “stop fucking with my kids future” kinda way.

Word is it isn't the great victory Boris is set to paint it as. Where the governemnt has tried to get something the EU has said no on and then they have asked for something more reasonable is counted as a victory in their "victory %"

JP Morgan a fairly neutral source in this (I try and look outside the U.K. Media for Brexit news anyway), doesn’t sound great:

Both sides will claim victory in the first instance.

This is a bit like when Cameron and Osborne went to extract things that would secure the ‘Remain’ victory. Boris will probably say he sneaked a look down Ursula’s top and has a photo he can exchange for a hard Irish border

It doesn't really matte what's in the deal for millions of people. The Union Jack flag shaggers will be loving it no matter what. TheEU flag shaggers will hate it no matter what.

This could turn out to be a great day.
Brexit is over. This is the lowest point.
The journey back to sensible governance could begin.
I doubt that the tribalism will go away but now the quitters have to fully own their Brexit. PM BJ must fully be held responsible for what unfolds.
I hope it will turn out well. I fear more lasting damage will be done by this band of zealots who will continue to gaslight the nation.
