We had an advisory referendum in 2016 which has led to this shitshow. So, as you've stated leave are 100% guaranteed to win a second referendum, why would you not be in favour of a second legally binding referendum?

All the arguments that people have changed their mind, didn't know no deal was a possibility, hadn't considered the situation in Ireland etc would be gone and the result would be legally binding.

Why are leavers against a vote that would make what they want legally enforceable?

It would never be enforceable either way

The Benn Act will still apply though won't it?

Wouldn't that mean Johnson would still have to request one and then it would be for the EU27, not Junker himself, to decide if they grant one or not.

The EU27 will turn it down if that is the case

Could you not do something similar to the alternative vote referendum?

Are you certain? Sky's political correspondent, Lewis Goodall is reporting "EU source says: “It’s not in his gift to rule it out, he is just defending the deal and saying one shouldn't be needed...I am 100% certain EU27 would permit an extension if deal falls on Saturday.”"

No more than the Tories will with hard Brexit to be fair. I think those horses have mostly bolted.

Also it is literally the policy decided by conference I think.

No way EU goes against a sovereign parliament. Can you imagine the precedent?

Whats the remoaners plan now then? Vote down the deal and then we get no deal..... or do they actually do what the majority voted for and pass the deal

This will be brilliant

Vote it through with a referendum amendment seems to be the plan.

What is different in this deal compared to the one originally offered by the EU that Johnson said was "the worst of all worlds", JRM called "cretinous" and May said was "a deal that no British prime minister could accept"?

Calm down. You asked what the plan was is all.

Seem a bit rattled

Personally I think considering we’ve had two referendums, one join, one leave (after Brexiters screamed and bitched until they got their own way), third one seems sensible.

It is literally this deal or no deal. I don't understand why people will try and invoke the extension. Its like saying "You can lose your arms or your legs now or wait a few months to decide" Just get it out the bloody way. Think of the money you will save on shoes.

Well be waiting for the new FTA to be agreed anyway. This is just the end of the beginning, we are nowhere near done with Brexit yet.

I genuinely don't think a lot of people realise that. People seem to think once this is sorted that's it, we leave and its job done.

Shows him up as the grifter he’s always been IMO. The last thing he wants is Brexit over and people to stop paying attention to him.

What the hell? I really don't know what to say to that. A man who has wanted to leave the EU since we joined is now complaining because the EU have told us to leave? But seems keen on an Act that could keep us in the EU for even longer?

Just a month ago they voted (in a non-binding resolution just like Brexit) 544-126 in favour of offering an extension if requested. Obviously at that time no deal had been agreed so they may have a change of heart, but if the deal doesn't get through parliament who knows.....

Not sure if that wasn't advisory as well. Didn't find out because FPTP won.
