A version of it.

But not the one we're likely to get.

Seems to be winding people like you up... mind you, he had to take crap from that nauseating creep Farage for years. Probably enjoying himself and getting a few laughs.

It will be interesting to see what happens long term about the languages used in the EU. They will be using a language that no member state has as a mother tongue if they stick to English.

But, for now Juncker is just enjoying himself... as Farage used to..

Junker is about the same level as Farage. A pipsqueak smug non entity. Nonsense like this and his pathetic £100 billion bill show we have made the correct decision.

We all know whose behind it anyway. As Le Pen correctly observed whoever wins the French presidential election a woman will be running France from Monday.

May should wait until just before the German elections and then just tell them to forget a deal and we will slap a massive tariff on imports as soon as we leave. Let's see what the industrial powerhouses of Europe do then.

The Germans think our decision was nuts anyway... that would certainly confirm their opinions.. I suspect they will nip over to China and sell even more cars and set up joint ventures to produce auto parts for the home industry to replace the ones they buy from Britain ... May can play the hard woman all she wants, but no-one is going to give the U.K. a better deal than it now has...

So two wrongs make a right? Why are you trying to justify it/him?

Baffling

They are already in China and margins are being squeezed. We import more goods from the EU than we export so as long as we match any tariff they bung on us we are no worse off at all are we?

Better complain to the EU then unless they give a free deal to us as they need us more than we need them

So we agree then a free trade deal is of benefit for both of us and any tariff based deal would hurt only consumers?

Yes, the single market is good for manufacturers and consumers alike. I would never jeopardise it, if I were in power.

We need each other, which is why I am against Brexit. We had a good deal before we triggered article 50 and told the EU we were "bloody awkward". I would rather complain to the brexiteers who are responsible for this almighty fuck up.

The other one has said that the EU needs to reform. Not so much anti EU but is the base of the argument that led to an in out referendum in the UK. Be interesting to see if Junker takes heed and reform seriously now the leading candidate in the French election is saying it. Too late for the UK though.

Which part of my post is "dream world"? The Germans I know think Brexit is a big mistake. The Germans are interested in the Chinese car market. There will be problems with customs delays for people like auto parts manufacturers if we are not in the single market. The EU has made it very clear that any deal will not be better than we have now.

The Germans that I have spoken to and read about do indeed think brexit is a mistake but not for the reasons you mention.

I think they are more worried about replacing 10billion a year net we pay into it. That now has to come from somewhere else and the last time I checked it doesn't grow on trees.

Not to mention risks to their motor car industry that they rely heavily on the U.K. for as We've discussed so tbf to them I would think it's a mistake also.

What a little coward, this man owes his entire existence to the English voice, when his country surrendered, after not even 1 days worth of resistance to the Nazis during World War 2, it was the English who came and saved them, I bet the English language was important to his people then.

Along with brave Poles who also took part in the Battle of Britain, it's a shame that they've been vilified so much.

I suspect it was just a joke come wind up.... his little tee hee... not a statement of fact or a threat to he English speaking world... a bit like the style of Farage... but has been lapped up as justification for jettisoning ourselves into oblivion as far as trade deals go...

Are you blaming Luxemburg for surrendering? The Luxemburg army is about 300 strong at the moment,. I suspect the German language was more important to them then as now. Their own language is similar to German..

Anyway, it is strange that everyone is up in arms about a little negative quip by Juncker, but the same people were praising Farage for his constant digs and insults in the European Parliament...

I don't like either of them, but I am not bothered about Juncker's little dig. With the collapse of Labour and the prospect of an almost one party state in the U.K., I think we have other things to worry about.

They think it is a mistake for Britain and that it will have negative consequences in Germany. The Germans see it as a lose lose situation. They find it hard to understand- it defies their sense of logic.

Property prices are rising dramatically in Frankfurt- so at least some Germans think they will be winning...
