So scoring goals AND conceding goals is an anomaly???

Is 15 goals in 3 games an anomaly too

Or how about 18 in 7 ???

Tell us, when does it stop being an anomaly?

They're anomalies because we were never going to cary on conceding set pieces at the rate we were nor averaging 6 goals per game.

And that's proven to be the case.

That's always been the case, but all goals count even if they are "anomalies" if we conceed from a set piece tonight, would that be an anomaly too or have anomalies finished for this season?

What on earth are you on about?
I never said goals scored or conceded were anomalies or that certain types of goals don't count.
But the numbers, 6 set piece goals conceded in 3 league games and 12 goals scored in 2 league games were.

So a team averaging 6 goals per game scored and 2 conceded per game from set pieces is a regular occurrence? OK then!

Well by your logic, keeping 2 clean sheets on the bounce in the championship for the first time this season is also an anomaly then. As is playing against 10 men on saturday, and getting an own goal.

FYI. ive predicted us to win tonight bt 2 anomalies to 1

Keeping 2 clean sheets on the bounce isn't an anomaly, loads of teams do it.
We'll probably do it again and we've definitely done it before.
Not sure when we've scored 5 and 7 on the spin?
Think we didn't in the top flight when Huckerby got a couple of hat tricks, think we scored 7 two games on the bounce but I'm prepared to be corrected on that.

0, 0, 0, 1, 1, 2 & 3 against (7)
0, 0, 1, 2, 3, 5 & 7 for (18)

Not sure what that shows if you plot it, but it's good news.

As you were

Conceding from set pieces was a hangover from last season, in fact it was piss poor defending from a corner away at Sunderland in the play off semi final second leg, that ended our dream of promotion.

Yea something out of the ordinary, something unusual, or unpredictable..

Not like hammering the fuck out of QPR or Derby or Birmingham or Millwall, All of which is becoming very predictable and quite the norm.

Has anyone ever gone a full season unbeaten at this level?

I know Arsenal did it in the Prem and before them Preston back in the day, but also top flight. I don't know of any in a 46 game EFl season, but stand to be corrected.

We're 7 in, I can't see any of the next 6 beating us (yeah I know, anything CAN happen in the Champ) and then with confidence / momentum and a certainly a decent run to finish the season if we get close.

You may laugh now and say no chance, but is is it impossible?

Certainly be quite a feat for us.
