We will probably now go and screw it up tonight, now you've said that.

Anyway, hasn't just about everyone on here said how rocky our defence is looking? Plus we are pretty much at the top of the league for goals given away at set pieces.

Arsenal also had a superb defence that year and a lot of their success was built upon that

People on here say many things that are not true

We've hardly let in any goals from open play. That's not a sign of a rocky defence. Most of the goals we've conceded have been from set plays. A much easier problem to solve. We've now only conceded once in the last 3 games including away at Leicester which is one of our hardest games of the season.

Being unbeaten can be over rated, especially if it includes a lot of draws. Mathematically and points wise you are better off swapping two draws for one loss and one win.

Far too early to start this thread and only worth revisiting if we are still unbeaten with about 6 games to go.

Didn't do Burnley any harm last season

Staying unbeaten is great for team morale. If all of our draws were closer to a defeat than a win I'd be a little worried. But this form has us competing for a top 2 place. Just a draw has us in 2nd. Keep the points ticking over and watch the teams below us trying to catch us up.

Win at home draw away is a pretty good target. Yes being undefeated is good for morale as long as the win count is still high. But too many draws can be counter productive. As you say team performance needs to be taken into consideration. If we can have the occasional bad day at the office and still come away with a draw I think most of us would take that.

But let's not get too far ahead off ourselves. It's one game at a time. A tough game tonight and I think Wednesday at the weekend might be trickier than some think.

I'd say draws can sometimes be good depending on the context. I'd love 6 points from the next two games, but would happily take a draw tonight and win Saturday, still unbeaten heading into the international break, then go again.

Has anyone ever gone a full season unbeaten at this level?

I know Arsenal did it in the Prem and before them Preston back in the day, but also top flight. I don't know of any in a 46 game EFl season, but stand to be corrected.

We're 7 in, I can't see any of the next 6 beating us (yeah I know, anything CAN happen in the Champ) and then with confidence / momentum and a certainly a decent run to finish the season if we get close.

You may laugh now and say no chance, but is is it impossible?

Certainly be quite a feat for us.

* Hoping I don't jinx it for Wednesday night

Tell you what if we go the whole season unbeaten I’ll wear trackies instead of chinos in the Prem next season.

I like to mix it up and have some chinos that look like trackies.

Didn't know there was ones in Cov. We went to Rodizio Rico in Birmingham, presumably similar vibe. If it's as good as that I'd be interested. Do you have a link please?

Learnt something new, thank you. I always thought 'haberdashery' was bits and pieces of accessories like pins, buttons, zips, etc but I googled it after your reference and it lists men's clothing accessories as North American English. Never heard it used in that context before.

We will lose games. We will have tougher times. November and December won't be easy.

I have been saying the Sheffield Wednesday game will be difficult because of the quick turnaround in two away games. But some are jumping on me because I think we have a good chance of winning tonight. 3 home games, 1 win 2 defeats. 1 goal for 5 against.

Looks like it's silly season again.

We were definately poor at set pieces in the first few games, but we've only conceded 1 goal in the last three games, and that was from open play, and the keeper and centre halves have looked better of late, there's definately an understanding developing.

The set piece thing was an anomaly, as was smashing in 12 goals in 2 games.

It’s another Rodizio Rico, on Corporation Street opposite the Belgrade. Been there for years now.

I think you can get Groupon vouchers for both which make it much cheaper (about £30 each for the food and a cocktail).

Arsenal going undefeated had an aura about it that won’t ever be matched unless a team repeats the feat

But I certainly think those Liverpool and City sides were better

For the record - I think Josè’s first Chelsea side in 04/05 that lost just 1 game conceding 15 goals is the best side in Premier League history
Dunno bout best Prem side ever but they were deffo the best Jose team ever. Seem to remember Robben and Duff running riot and a lot of 4-0 wins compared to his later teams that seemed to win more by the single goal

The bandwagon's fully loaded and is now unstoppable. Great work! Have you, by any chance, got a contingency plan in place for when we lose tonight?
