It was a trumpeter with the band - presumably their own one.did they get the horn players from the RBL, cadets etc. to play the intro? Sounded like it from block 25. If they did, that was a brilliant touch.
He wasnt there last night. Presume it was a pre-recorded thing used by the clubDalziel messed up his bit about remembrance - obviously used last years speech and didn’t change the “84 years since the blitz” to 85.
sloppy…..
Enemy bit was quality though. I actually sang it.
But not at kick off. Just a thing with me.
Based on the bands media posts since last night i would not be surprised, if we did acheive promotion, that it is repeated, and some, at the end of the season
The last post was on a bugle as wellIt was a trumpeter with the band - presumably their own one.
don’t think it was the same guy as who played last post.
The enemy & Tom Grennan. Worst party ever.Granted, getting well ahead of myself here (proper well ahead of myself) but say we did actually end up winning, I could see the club throwing a party, festival style, like the lot up the M69 did when they won the league and they had Kasabian playing.
The Enemy
Tom Grennan
etc etc
Extra F&B revenue and would likely shift speciality merch on the day as well. No brainer actually the more I think of it.
The Enemy are class liveThe enemy & Tom Grennan. Worst party ever.
I’d rather have Sunny doing Jatt don’t care

A lot of people won't get this but this might be the funniest comment I've ever seen on this forumThe enemy & Tom Grennan. Worst party ever.

The last post was on a bugle as well
Yes the bugle tune is controlled by the lips and pressure of the air you send through it,no keys, would that be right,we had one when we were kid's?It was played on a trumpet last night, for some reason. I'm not a poppy perfectionist, but I did spot that on the telly when I was watching it.
What's the difference between a trumpet and a bugle, you ask? About £1.50 when you weigh it in for scrap.
When he played Godiva he did a version of Sweet Caroline which was so bad it almost got all music cancelled. So is Grennan. Fair enough if you don't like his music but he always puts on a proper show and always does cheap tickets.
It was a recorded on a track and mimed along by the trumpeter
yep, no valves unlike a trumpet which means you control the notes by how you blow air into it.Yes the bugle tune is controlled by the lips and pressure of the air you send through it,no keys, would that be right,we had one when we were kid's?

well, yes of coursethat and it clearly sounded like a bugle
well, yes of course
It was a guy from the fusiliers but it was on a trumpet not a bugle. Wasn’t the same dude. The last post was on a bugle as well
I play the trumpet. Last Post on a valved brass instrument particularly in the B Flat key is all notes where you would play them ‘open’. So no valves. So the notes are G, C and E through the octave.Which I noticed was how the chap was playing the trumpet last night. Didn't touch the keys at all that I could see.
It will take someone who actually knows about brass instruments to tell me whether this is possible, in theory I suspect it is though...
Should also point out it’s easier to play it on a trumpet or cornet than a bugle. Less chance for bum notes, although whilst there’s still that risk, he played it very well.I play the trumpet.
