Nice idea, I like it.

Only only gripe; why this game and now? Save it for something more significant surely. As once it’s done, it’s done, it’ll look silly to bring it back again.

Closest game to their Coventry gigs I imagine?

I'm not sure if I'm imagining this but was there a performance by The Beat or The Selecter before a game at Highfield Road in the 90's? They set up some kind of temporary stage in the stand

They're touring in November. Most likely plugging their tour? Or maybe releasing an album theyre plugging? Pointless plugging all that at the end of the season when the tour has long since past.

It should be mutually beneficial, but could be considered a little presumptuous, hope it turns out ok.

How is it presumptuous? We sing WLADITT, they wrote, sang and recorded it. By having them there, plugging an album or tour, and lifting the atmosphere in the crowd, isn't presuming anything?

Are you saying you can only have a band play live if we get promoted? Because I dont see them playing as presumptuous at all. They're playing their song, that we sing, to lift the crowd and the atmosphere for a game. It'll likely be costing us little if anything as they're touring and will use it as a plug. Looks like there's merchandise as well with the Cov/Enemy shirts. They'll make a packet out of selling them. We could always tell them no, and get them back IF we get promoted, but by then they wont be selling tour tickets, albums or merchandise, so are less likely to want to or will charge us more for it!

Was it not The Specials for one of the first Sky games at HR? I was only about 6, but they set up in the middle of the Sky Blue Stand about 20ft in front of me and that's about all I remember.

Remember the early days of Sky where every game that was on tele had an "act" beforehand. Remember us playing Forest at the City ground, evening match, and they had those two black kids who wore their jeans back to front performing. Horrendous.

It was a Friday evening KO against Southampton, very close to Christmas.
The band were primarily existing members of the Specials but Pauline Black may have done a couple of numbers too?

Bitterly cold and pissing down as I recall.
Went to a party later and didn't dry out properly until about three days later.
