Some questioned whether there would be any economic benefits for bringing in wasps. When this was part of the councils rationale

You may “LOL”, but in my view you’ve completely misjudged this. A quick look at the Wasps forum (not something I intend to do regularly) reveals Irish fans asking about the best hotels & restaurants to use for their visit. Wasps have turned these big European games, which they are pretty much guaranteed every year, into all-day friendly (and beery) events. I don’t know too much about the game, but I suspect the Ricoh Arena may soon be regarded as a must-do for rugby fans from far and wide.

Before anyone says this thread is only about Wasps and should be moved, aren’t the lessons clear for CCFC? Top-class sport sells tickets.
