We also loaned out ROD and McPake to Hibs for half of the season

Add to this the possible departures of Martin Cranie, Richard Keogh, James McPake and ROD, and I am starting to wonder whether we'll be able to pick a full matchday squad (subs bench is going back to 7 instead of 5).

Apologies if I missed any out.

What this says to me is that a squad which in the first place was not good enough has been so dismantled it is beyond belief. I know that this is not news as such, but looking at the two lists it is simpl shocking. We have effectively let an entire team leave the club, without signing any replacements other than a few youth teamers.

I can't see how we will field a starting XI, never mind a subs bench, next season without relying on teenagers from the youth team - that is before injuries bite as they surely will on a squad so depleted. Don't expect us to sign more than 2-3 new players either.

No sign of a takeover to change any of this - financial fair play potentially meaning we can't sign more players until the rent agreement changes, which it may not do until a takeover happens.....

The future's bright eh?

In order for the lists to compare fairly you'd have to include on the in side all the yth team players who have become first team, or leave off the outside players like quirke, Clarke Harris.

I agree with that, and also to include Gardner who played 4 games as an in is tenuous.

Personally I reckon we have the worst owners and manager!

But youth team players aren't new signings - they are par for the course.

IMO we shouldn't be relying on teenagers at all, AT has said himself the likes of Connor and Gael should still be in the youth team not playing for the firsts.

FFP isn't stopping us signing, we're goint phut, phut phut!
Where did you look for the list, I'd like to look back futher over SISU's reign and see the financial effects. :pimp:

Like last year............'those 'few youth teamers' will indeed form the back up for our squad. SISU have lifted the embargo but if they don't actually complete any of the target signings by next weekend, you have to suspect that they have done it purely to lure more ST sales in their extended early bird period.

Oh I forgot Turner as well - didn't use an online resource, the list was just from memory

As for reliance on youth team players - I agree we will see few, if any, new signings, and will indeed once again rely on young players - but that's not the way it should be! L1 is a very physical league - if we finish anywhere above 8th it will be a fantastic performance!

AT is a crap manager, in these circumstances he should have got us to mid table not 3 wins from saftey, sack him now !

I don't know of any posters who could be viewed as Sisu Supporters. There are some who are objective and refuse to close their eyes, pit their hands over their ears and shout "SISU OUT" repeatedly whenever anything new comes out.

That's not a Sisu Supporter, that's a rational human being.

I posted last week these owners are the worst we have had in the clubs history, its sad but the facts dont lie,, unlike SISU. They have to run the club as a business without any short, medium or long term plan only to cut the wage bill that much that relegation was the only realistic outcome.

With this current squad we need 5 players in plus loans and that is without the possiblity of losing 3 more players we have to replace..

Has anyone ever claimed this?

No nor have claimed they love sisu. Some of have claimed that thorn is not the man for the job. This is SBJ's case for the defense. If I am ever up at the Old Bailey I hope he's not the public defendant.

no need to panic yet but in only 3 weeks we are due to play the first friendly matches and I suspect the trio of Cranie, Keogh and Bigi will have gone by then. We went to the club shop yesterday and despite a few people buying kits etc it looked like an operation in decline with only two staff trying to deal with tickets/merchandise sales.
I think we need signings now by the middle of this week to boost morale { and increase ST sales} !!

I believe Sisu did come here with a plan, they signed the likes of Westwood, Dann, Fox, Gunnarsson, Weren't they trying something similar to Reading? to pick up the top talents from the lower league sell them off and keep that circle going. The fans didn't come out and support the club. They appointed the wrong man in Coleman and it's been a downward spiral since about Jan 2011. Why would you continue to support a club when the fans can't be bothered to get of there back side and help through money and support??

Also the squad was big enough, the problem was not having a balance squad and injury prone players.

I'm sorry MARTY but last years squad had relegation written all over it by August. The spine ripped out and replaced with poorer or younger players and the numbers you refer to were made up of untried academy kids and as you said injury prone individuals. Expect more of the same and worse this year. With no significant new arrivals to the start of the season I would expect us to finish lower half of the table, the kids will get bullied and the usual crocks will.......................yes be crocked again.

A completely flawed and biased breakdown.

1. you cannot exclude the academy graduates who were replacement bodies. The club may not have paid a transfer fee for them, but they have invested money in developing them and paying them a wage, and most of them now qualify as assets with transfer value. Oddly, despite dismissing this, you see fit to include Jonson Clarke Harris as a "departure" even though he only had one sub appearance.

2. you cannot speculate over who may go. It is as worthless as speculating over who may come in.

3. you cannot include recent departures without giving the club the full summer to bring in replacements.

I'm not sure what you're trying to get at with this post, I've said many times that the squad although big enough, is nowhere near balanced enough. He should have been wheeling and dealing to bring in numbers/more balance if that's what he felt he needed. I did also state that we would be relegated last season and have already placed a number of bets with other users that the same will happen again.

The thing I find most worrying is the amount of posters who are willing to give yet more chances to the likes of Baker & Deegan.

I think Baker may actually surprise a few people this year but Deegan would be poor in any league.

He may be ok in league one, but his injury record doesn't fill me with any confidence that he'll be able to play 35+ games. It's time to cut the dead wood.

Looking at Scott Dann since, that's a belting price when you consider it's exactly half a Cody McDonald.

Dear old Fred is the one that really sticks out!
four year contract for £1,584,000 a goal scorer that only got 17 goals over 4 those years!
and got banned from the team because he was unfit
I wonder what his agent promised in the negotiations?......
these transfer sums should come with guarantees!
money back if he eats the pies!..... :pimp:
