Suggested this to the missus yesterday. She wasn't keen.

My daughter works at Miller and Carter in Stivichall its been really busy but she's come out with nearly £400 in tips so far .

I remember when my dad had the pub it was hard , he had a tradition of leavng a tray of whisky and brandy out for all the regular customers as a thank you. Some random walked in and helped himself off the tray to two whiskies so Dad charged him and said he was as regular as Hayleys comet

Only found out after he died that during the miners strike he used to bring a bottle of whisky and Brandy to the lads on the picket like in keresley , he was a great man

Who remembers Santa's Grotto in Owen & Owens as a child? He used to love the kids sitting on his lap!"he always spent a lot of time talking to the kids and letting them rummage in his sack!

Took my daughter to Tesco in walsgrave last night to do the snack and beer shopping.

weird thing happened .

So before i met my wife I was flat sharing with my friend joe who was an apprentice mechanic we were both 18 and I was seeing a girl called Donna she was 19, we had been together for 5/6 months. Joe had an accident at the garage where a shard of glass was embedded in his eye. I collected him from hospital and brought him back to the flat my job was to wash his eye out daily and pack the eye with cotton gauze and a patch over the eye for a week. The last day I was running late so Donna went round to clean it, well to cut a long story short they basically got together. To be fair to them they told me about it the very next day and I bumped into them last night shopping for the first time since that day. It turns out they've been married since 1997 they had 3 kids and a a couple of grandkids, I was chuffed for them but it got me thinking if it hadnt been for cotton eye joe I could of been married a long time ago

Sorry
