Baker's worst performances in his last season with us coincided in the main with very bad team performances.
In his first (League One) season with MK he was one of their best players.
In his second (Championship) season he wasn't so good.
Coming back to us in a better CCFC team, in League One, he could well be a positive signing

Really? Really?
If we were offered the chance of re-signing either of these players I would definitely go for the one who's about to play in Euro2016.

We need wide players so I think he can do a job, it gives us another option so no complaints from me on this one IF it happens

If we sign him then for me things aren't looking good. Too old and too inconsistent. Hardly sparked us his first episode at the club.

Baker wouldn't cost much, still loves the club and appears to want to come back. Mowbray wants to mix and match this year with experience and youth. A spine of Baker, Ricketts, Tudgay, possibly Turner (yes I'm waiting for the stick), along with Vincelot and the mix of young loans players looks good to me.

And before I hear it....those few listed are on a different planet to Fortune, hunt, Henderson and the likes.

You can't have Ricketts, Baker and Tudgay as a spine for the team. They shouldn't be starting unless to cover injuries.

Great and correct point, I meant more for a spine of experienced players within the squad. Totally agree with you on a match by match basis.

I guess it would fit in with Moggas head of having an experienced player for each are defence, midfield and striker. I still think we need an experienced keeper to push RCC further.

Yes his championship record over the years is so superior to McSheffreys.

Call me old fashioned, but I prefer full our backs to be able to defend instead of jogging back on the half way line whilst the opposition winger is running into our box with the ball. Think Baker might have seen it the same way during his time here.

sadly we are in League one. Whilst not the end all for midfielders, here are their League one strike rates

Christie has won the young player of the year award at Derby. Baker signed for us in the Championship and was ultimately a disappoint for us in that league. I'm nt sure that any neutral would agree with you.

Comparing apples and pears. Doubt Mowbray has signed Baker as a right back so not really an issue over Christie or Baker. I'll maintain that Christie wasn't great defensivley for us though.

baker would be a top signing, help mk get promoted 2 seasons ago and although he is an ageing player i still think he could come in and produce the goods. seems like mk fans want to keep him and that says it all surely.

Some of our fans wanted to keep our injury prone centre back.
I take fans opinions of fans favourites with a massive pinch of salt.

Nah don't want him and we were right to let him go on a free for footballing reasons....

Oh and I see what you mean he definitely struggles to pick a pass

I'm a bit ambivalent on this to be honest. When he's he good, he's good, etc etc. I'd have him back as a squad/impact player. He can certainly change a game.

Might still keep reda if he proves his fitness pre season and if he doesn't receive any offers from other clubs the club might offer a pay as you play deal

Just watched that video. He does nothing flashy at all, but everything is effective. Turning players inside out he looks so gangly and clumsy but he keeps control well and does a job.

He played some superb balls through for Clark and Callum in that half season and the one before, Beckhamesque from wide right just ahead of the halfway line.
Oh and knocked a few in himself.

No thank you. Hardly somebody associated with progress. We signed him whilst Swansea were signing players like Nathan Dyer. I think we even paid more.

Love or money?

If Baker was offered a 1 yr deal by City and a 1 yr deal by MK Dons at slightly better wages than City's offer, which offer do you think he would take?
