Indeed (if you're talking about HR, the Ricoh was techncially never ours to give up).

Either way, it wasn't as stupid and immoral an idea as selling the Ricoh to a franchise - but hell as long as we've given SISU a bloody nose what does that matter, eh?
Don't forget we effectively had to give away half ownership of the Ricoh when we sold out to Higgs.
What would you do if you were selling your empty house and one old tenant didn't want it and another tenant showed interest ?

Ah, a stretched metaphor, you should perhaps warm up properly before you post. Still, makes a change from your usual straw man arguments I suppose.

Basically then, you've got one bloke who gets paid by Wasps and it's easy enough to understand why he supports them.

Fans like you supporting the deal with them is mystifying however - your hatred of SISU has blinded you to the obvious and you've done so many somersaults to try to justify it that you've just ended up with your panties in a fucking huge knot.

The only point you can ever make is that we've got shit owners - who here doesn't get that? Using it to disregard everything else that's been done to the club is just lazy one-eyed idiocy though, I'm afraid.

What are you on about? Take a breath.

We were in control of our ground situation, now we aren't. Wasps is a total distraction, nothing to do with us. Your hatred is the one blinding you.

I agree the deal was shit. I suspect we need our own ground. I supported the rent strike as a tactic to bring about a better deal.

Where you and I part company is the idea that it was smart to throw away our current deal and put us completely at the mercy of a third party with no stake in our future before finding an alternative.

We are where we are because of poor strategy nothing more nothing less.

If my mortgage is too high, I negotiate a new one or I move house. I don't just stop paying it and move onto the streets. That a better analogy for you?

As a club we stopped being a reliable tenant and took our landlords to court, then bitch about not being given preferential treatment. That's entitled and immature to the extreme.

Wasps could not have moved here if we were still reliable tenants. CCC would not have been looking to get rid ASAP if they didn't have a hostile organisation using the courts to attack them. CCCs primary objective at a time of reduced budgets is emptying bins and providing social care, not looking after football clubs. That's just the political reality. They would be abdicating their legal duties to their constituents if they put CCFC ahead of social care.

You can bitch and moan that everyone should be nice to us at their own cost because we are CCFC and we are special. But it's not true. Live in the world as it is, not as we wish it was.

Student Accommodation will no doubt be in any future plans of developing the site. Huge revenue streams from influx of students into the city.

I see AFC Wimbledon have been given the go ahead to build their new stadium at Plough Lane. 11k seater. 600 flats, along with retail shops.

And that's relevant how exactly?

Or is it just you can't defend the points being made?

I mean you and Grendel have been rabidly anti-council for years before any of this, but I don't bring that up.

Play the ball not the man.

Edit: and *Im* the overly emotional one blinded by hatred! You couldn't make it up. One side ranting about morals and conspiracy, the other talking about business and political reality. You guys are better projectionists than you'd find at the Odeon.

The thing is Otis, is that Shmeee bad mouths anyone who disagrees with Wasps being here as one eyed haters.

Perhaps he is the one eyed one, because as an intelligent adult, I can disagree with them being here, disagree with how and why they arrived, and wish them to leave back to their original heartlands, without hating them at all.

Yeah. I don't hate Wasps, but I do hate them being here.

I don't hate Sisu, but do hate them for taking us to Northampton and I don't hate the council. Wish they hadn't sold to Wasps, but do understand why they did.

Would be nice to see an independent council at the helm for a change.

Or of course give it to UKIP. They will sort everything out.

Can't help but think this has played out just as Fisher wants it to. Say they're moving us to the Butts, their owner expresses an interest but the council object straight away. Then the plans fall apart and Fisher can go to the FL, who have been involved to the point that they've visited the Butts, and say they tried but were blocked.

How were we blocked? Expressing an interest doesn't count as a plan that's been blocked. It's shooting the breeze at best. No business plan has been put forward, no application to change the lease agreement to let a professional football team at the site has been lodged, no building plans for a development that would accommodate CCFC have ever been drawn up let alone planning permission been applied for. I'm sure that the FL will buy it but lets not try and fool each over that something was blocked. It's more likely a deal was blocked by a pitch invasion than anything else and we all know that is bullshit.

Don't over analyse, think in the terms Fisher will be stating to the FL. The club were in dialogue about a move to the Butts, the FL visited the site, then the news became public via the rugby club, the council immediately moved to have a clause added to the lease preventing professional football.

That's how it will be presented to the FL. And remember this isn't a court case, there's nobody presenting an alternative viewpoint.

Given how the FL generally act do you think they'll take it at face value off the basis of their involvement so far and articles published in the CT or do you think they will start investigating an dig deeper?

Our owners were bullies who got a bloody nose, some of our fans decide that the club will no longer get their money so the downward spiral continues. It seems to me like we are totally in control of our downfall and have been for years. Get behind CCFC and stop the blame game, we are drowning in our own puke.

Seeing the pic you use, the answer's got to be theres certainly no Sanity Clause when it comes to CCFC (cringe). Seems like Cov rugby, CCFC ladies, rugby league and cov utd have got their plan and the nomadic wasps seem to have stopped being nomadic so it just leaves ccfc with no plan, no home to call our own and owners not interested in football. I still can't get over how bad yesterday was when things had seemed to be picking up.

Funny that, I've been banging on for ages (since we bogged off to Northampton, in fact) about how we should buddy up with Warwick Uni.

Same principle, mind. You'd hope any future owner would see the blindingly obvious!

BPA was a complete non starter, Fisher had to be seen as at least trying to be doing something new ground related after being exposed by that freedom of information request.

Fisher can blame fans and CCC as much as he likes but CRFC would not touch SISU with a barge pole. Yes it's blame SISU again but they are the common denominator in all CCFC problems.

Yep. Problem is, as a support, we are so desperate for and end to our problems we tend to jump on anything that gives us a glimmer of hope and blow it our of all proportion, (I include myself in that).
BPA, Malakas investment post, Simon Jordan.
There are a myriad of reasons why BPA won't happen but I think you've hit upon the main one, CRFC wouldn't touch CCFC with a barge pole, (at least with sisu at the helm).

If you do the corporate thing at BPA the chairman or other club senior apparatchiks often work the room and take questions, the SISU was asked quite often.

CRFC are performing well on the pitch and interest In the sport is increasing since "you know who" arrived and gates are increasing.
Coventry people see the club as their own and with the BPA secure the club is looking to expand in several ways.

In other words look how SISU have tainted and almost destroyed the city's football club do you really think we want to have any of that?
