Hoping to go for a meal here with the missus and my cousin & her husband. Has anyone been here recently and would they recommend the place? I must say, it looks great on their website, but I'd like personal recommendations if possible. Cheers lads (and lasses!)

Not ate there for a few years but was decent when I did! Went to the red lion in Hunningham which was very nice

I was going to say I didn't even know it existed! Then I realised it wasn't actually *in* Birdingbury.

(Red Lion at Hunningham is erratic btw, changes hands a lot recently. Personally I like the Friendly Inn at Frankton for it's specials. Hilltop Farm's good for a Sunday lunch. There's a thread on decent country pubs on here somewhere - not that it helps you with this specific pub!)

Here you go! Country Pubs

Get down the new Three Horseshoes and Grill on the Foleshill Road. Smart restaurant at the back, and rave reviews on social media. Pity you live in Malvern !

My cuz lives in Rugby so I was trying to find somewhere in that direction, but out in the country a bit. And I will have my wee doggy with me, so needs to be dog-friendly.

I go in there a lot before and after home matches. I was in there Saturday night for the Liverpool game. It's been refurbished and the restaurant is as good as anywhere in Cov. I haven't eaten in there yet, but my mates have and say the food is excellent. So give it a go. The gaffer and his son's ran a bar and Grill in Brum, and he says this place is as good as the Birmingham one.

Have you tried The Lions Inn (Cedars) in County Coundon yet, Daz?

It's more a restaurant (Indian) than pub.

The Folly Inn, a canalside pub in Napton gets great reviews. I went there years ago.

We've never had a bad meal up there, that's mainly during the week though as it's rammed on a weekend, so we avoid then.

Been a few times for meals and since the new management it's been really good, plus I've never been in there when there hasn't been at least one dog in there. You can walk along the towpath, walk the muitt and have a really nice meal in pretty relaxed surrounding. Enjoy
